Cupra R Downpipe Size

Hey people,

just looking at getting the new Piper exhaust system for my cupra R. Just looking around at the APR stuff just to see the difference between them.

Anyway my question is, what size is the standard Downpipe??

The only difference i can see is one splits in to two pipes (being the standard one). both look the same size i.e 3". So if you look at the piper exhaust systems, they have a 3" downpipe that looks the same as the standard one.???

has anyone got the size of the standard pipe????

OE starts at 3" but I think goes down to 2.5" just after the flexi

Biggest difference between Piper & APR is the price... for the cost of just the APR downpipe, you can have a full turbo back Piper system, including ceramic coated DP & cat... and probably have enough left over to pay for getting it fitted!

Not sure on the size of the standard one, but the APR & Piper DP is 3"

Hello,

Yes the STD one starts at 3" but it not round, its a sort of oval shape due to the 2 pressing put together. The flexi section is very restrictive at 2.25" in the centre of it, it then opens up to 2.5" then splits into 2 x 1.75" pipes.

This is one of the options we do, this is for people who want to keep the STD cat, or have purchased a De-Cat etc..

For the best performance you will want to use this downpipe pictured below:

sorry my pc decided to go back, making me think i didnt post it.

With the all in one downpipe cat, do you give that a life time warranty as its a complete unit?

You get a lifetime warranty on all aspect/parts of it except the Sports cat which is 18 months. If you have a problem we have the part back. Fix or replace it and return it to you

So if the cat goes, how do you sort that out? as its all together with the downpipe?

Thats not a problem. We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase with no grey areas.

If the cat develops a fault INSIDE its 18 month warranty period, we have the whole part back here, fit a new cat and send it back out to you the same day (so your car is off the road for the minimum amount of time).

If the cat develops a fault OUTSIDE its 18 month warranty period, we have the whole part back here, charge you for and fit a new cat and send it back out to you the same day (so your car is off the road for the minimum amount of time).

sorry to bring this post up but your saying that your system is a 3" downpipe. by just using the bigger downpipe and standard CATS will this make any difference?

or is the cats a big restriction also?
