I get the jack point covers wet! and a whack with palm of hand, they pop on really easy give that a go? giving them a clean helps too!
hmmm i no how you feel, mine has been doing it for the last week, i had to take it to the body shop to fix......
and the problem had occured from having new tryes fitted. yes new tyres...
the trye company that i wont name had jacked my lcr up,and had the jack on the side sill out of sight of the human eye,unless you were on your hands a knees looking. what they did was bend the sill lip in to the back of the side skirt pushing the side skirt out of alinement,and causing the jack cover plate to fall of and bunje agaisnt the sill.
cost me £30 to fix the body shop put the car up on ramps bent the sill back into place resaled with that black underseal,then put the side skirt back on and realined it.. only prob was the trye company had broke of the cover points clips off,so i had to have a tiny screw put threw the back of it to hold it in place ...
no it looks like new....
so when you got 5mins lay under the car and check that pressed thin lips that runs down the underneath of your car if its bent to hell that we be the problem... cheers..

i had this problem on thursday and spent half an hour driving myself insane trying to get it back on. i eventually gave up and took it to my mates garage who put it up on a lift to get it on. it took him 20 minutes or so of messing about, swearing, hitting it. its the worst designed thing in the history of cars, and we only got it on by pushing back the two lugs inside the where the two fixings go. stupid seat.
Mine are a nightmare too, some dodgy tyre place put them back on after mounting and balancing two new tyres for me and when I left I heard that horrible clattering noise. Not only was one of the front ones hanging off and chipped to buggery, but the drivers side one was gone all together. Ended up going to the dealer and paying £35 for a new one (painted). Still, thanks to AndyCupra fpr the guide, I'll try that next time they need to go on. As for you Shaunyboy, as someone might have said before I think the problem only occurs after the car has been jacked up improperly so keep your eyes peeled whenever it's going up in the air.

I've always found on my old leon, to get the covers back on, is to lever the sideskirt down/outwards from the car with a screwdriver, only slightly, (so as not to bend them) and then clipping the covers back in.

I've just refitted my driverside front cover. Was swearing at the side of the road for about an hour last week. Had a quick look here and found the best method! Used no tools (other than a mat on the wet floor to keep my arse dry).
Offer the cover up and fit the top bit in first, then get a finger between the underside of the car and the top of the skirt (underneath) and pull it down a bit, then use your other hand to push the cover up, and it just clicks into place, nice and flush. I got the method from another thread that I can't find now, so if I do, credit to the chap that I read from. No screwdrivers, screws, glue, or beating with hammers or fists. I was expecting to spend hours out there this morning to sort it, took less than 2 minutes! Cheers

just spent 45mins this evening before it went dark putting the sodding cover on the front of the side skirt
i noticed in the end, there is a clip and the back that goes underneath the side skirt you get that in first then its not to bad to clip the others in my god what hassle though

Chances are, as youve jacked it up the sideskirt has been pushed upwards and now not quite stting right.
Get under the car and pull the edge of the skirt back over the lip of the sill. The sideskirt should be sat right now.
Now hold the top edge of the skirt with one hand (to make sure it stays put) and wack the cover on with the other.
I hope that makes sense.

Constant problem these jack covers. Had tyres replaced a few times now and despite telling them not to take the covers off, some of them still do and then tell you they can't get them back on!
I resigned myself to taping them up and "shock horror" actually had a good experience at the dealership in leicester. Rang them up late on friday to see if they could help...they said, "no problem, bring it in tomorrow morning at 8.15am and we'll stick it in the ramp. Job done and out of there by 8.45am - no charge. For some reason, i always worry that i'm going to get duped by the dealerships into thinking i'll need a new sill or jack cover or something else.

The easiest way is to lie underneath the car, and take the nearest torx screw on the side skirt to the jacking point. Then as you push the jacking point in pull the skirt down.
best thing is to get some audi TT rubber jacking point thingies, they stick right on the bottom of the car and you wont need to worry about the poxy plastic covers again. Do a search on here for them, loads of people have them on Leons and they are a worthwhile investment.
yeah m8 mine 2 kept poppin off scrapin on the floor itried bangin it back with rubber hammer(didn't work)so now mines stuck on with sticky velcro pads so u can remove them as needed.
does anyone know where you can buy the jack covers from cheaply as my front driver side one has come off and the rear passeneger side one has also
