custom sub enclosure progress thread

stupid business people! i park in the unused part of the car park..yet apparently my car is used for a door stop!

started by taking out the carpet
filled the area with cardboard to get a lip free surface area
got at work with the masking tape
and again
layed foil and got to work with the resin and thick fiberglass
a side on, no more scratch
also cleaned the car, waxed the wheels and now its looking sparkly for when i go out later

so i have the basic shell. going to build upon and extend it tomorrow when i have more resin!
think i need to buy a gallom haha!
so need more of that, then need to get the mdf for the front face, cut that to shape and then decide how deep i need it to be for the sub to work at its best..my sub can be mounted in reverse so to speak so that all its chrome and magnet can be on display, works perfectly that way...but il have to see how it all looks tomorrow (if im able to get more resin)

i have a mate with a mk3, but if were totally honest i dont think that will come for a while yet! this is my first one, so i think were realistically looking a month for me to be happy with it.. i already know of 2 things i will change for the second box!
very much interested in how this comes up, i did get my lovely Leon, so ill be after one of these i recon.
What size sub will go into it? 10 or 12 inch? ive got a 12" sub, so wondering if that be too large.

only made the initial 2 layers for the moment to get the box shape, need to extend it and thicken it right up! lots to do yet!
there is a triangular foam piece that can be taken out to make the enclosure area a bit larger, so might do that for the next one..
all trial and error at the moment though

I've got a fibre glass mould I done for my mk3 ibiza you can have. I couldn't be arsed to finish it off. I won't post it though, collection only.
you going to E38 in august ? would take it off your hands there.

sadly not, ihad the week off last week with the hope of completing the box, but we had adeath in the family so my week off turned into a week of working for my dad and helping to arrange the funeral
