A week ago i noticed that the passenger side front and rear under the mats were damp,
Has anyone come across this problem?
Took it took the dealers today and they said where i have ran my power cable for the amps it's coming in from there.
I removed the cows udder grommet from the passenger side and ran my power cable through the hole.
I can't see how water would get in, anyone help?

I had a similar problem on my clio where the footwell would fill up. Turns out it was a blocked windscreen drainage hole and the water took a different route and through the bonnet release catch. Obviously the bonnet release is on the drivers side in the Leon.

But usually with damp foot wells it is from water finding a route trough cable routes from the engine bay, be it the factory SEAT cables or ones that you have installed.

Have you powered your amps directly from the car battery terminals? I too would say thats causing you the leaks. I can't see SEAT doing warranty work if you've installed aftermarket electronics.

Perhaps try throwing a bucket of water over the front of your car winsdcreen and bonnet and then have a look where the amp power cable enters your interior and see if you get any more dampness.

You want it sorting ASAP, because it'll start smelling and you can never really get rid of it without completely stripping the carpets.

Yes i have powered my amps directly form the car battery then it goes through the passenger side firewall and a grommet was removed looks like a cows udder to get the cable through.

Yeah the missing grommet was the problem on my clio. Mine was due to Renault not fitting one from purchase. I'd some how replace it or get some rubber based sealent or somethinng from B&Q to make good. Don't know if you want to do that from the engine bay side or from the inside. probably both.

Could be coming in because the polen filter was incorrectly fitted or not fitted at all, resulting in wet getting in after you've washed the car.Seem to remember one of my past cars having that problem. My old Sierra sapphire I think.

Yes the grommet is missing but the cable is 0 gauge and it nearly fills the hole where the grommet was, :help:but not all do you think that could still be the problem?
Matthew.

Yeah I would say so. Dry the area then get 1 tissue and rest it on the surface beneath where the grommet was or just attach tissue near it so its in contact with that general area. Get some water on your screen and bonnet area and see if the tissues get damp.

If it is this then within 30mins you should be getting damp patches on it.

I'm not too familiar with the footwell on the leon so not sure where abouts the grommet is but the above technique was how i discovered where my footwell leak came from.

You really just need to get that car wet and then watch that area like a hawk for moisture getting in.

*just noticed you said rear as well? I'm assuming the rear footwell is not as damp as the front? Correct?

(If you think the rear footwell is damper than the front then do you park on a slope facing up? )

No the front was damper than the rear.
thanks Matthew.

Process of elimination springs to mind.If there is any hole that you know about surely use a sealant or grommet to bung it then see if it still leaks in.
1. If so look elsewhere.
2. If not job done.
