Speaking with John and Pete I need get some issues sorted first with the chassis as my car can't handle stage 2,never mind 400bhp..so I've bought some cpilovers,brakes and pads,rear strut and engine mounts...

It will defo happen as I have the bits but issues need to be sorted first...so that it can handle the power also got a smf on order....can see this being an expensive time lol..

Part of me wants powwwwwer but I feel todo it differently...am I being stupid or what?

Have all my parts for the head rebuilt which john currently has,which hes working his magic on when he's back off holiday,...

Just Waiting on ACL Rod Bearings,Headbolts,Oil squirter,2x Oil filters And Oil Pump which should be here Monday/tuesday next:D...Im getting excited now also pricing up some Vibratech/ths Engine mounts along with Some front powerflex bushes...

Should be a rather quick K04 I hope once finished...
 
How you getting on with the engine rebuild mate ?

Did you notice any problems when you stripped the engine that could have led to your low compression on cylinder 4 ?
 
Yes the second compression looked rather thin...and the cylinder 4 bore was really shiney compared to the other 3...But weather this was the reason im not too sure but at least it will be all new..

Im also going to change the seal and o-rings on the inlet manifold...if it does it again its something todo with fueling
 
Dan, you can strip and clean the followers mate, theres a guide on vvortex i think - have a search.
I've just done mine the other week, i banged them on the back of the vice until the plunger came out then stripped, checked the non return valve, cleaned them up and reassembled with clean oil.
Or just buy some.... which is a lot easier !!!
 
Had a chat with the boss and with her nearly ready to sit her driving test I've desired to go big turbo..ive currently took the complete k04 kit of and il be popping that up on eBay...ive got most of the stuff ready but il be getting John to help me out...
 
Business done with sammy and got a lad coming later today to have a look at it...going to pic up my Ina manifold of john this weekend and pop that up for sale too..

Been looking at various Spool rates for a OEM 1.8t and the GT2860Rs .84 seems to be the best choice at 350bhp ...Anything large seems to be horribly Laggy like full boost around 4k-4.1krpm which i do not want...With a OEM Revo limiter too...
 
I wouldn't go with anything with a 0.84 hotside on a 1.8T road car, that will be laggy, better with a 0.64.

Yes why should i Pay £185 to a uk supply when sammy can supply them me...At WD prices...Same with the bt setup and other bits...

awesome ronnie...cant wait to see what its like....tempted with the Gt2860rs on a 84 a/r housing seem to be getting some good reviews on the vw vortex site..
