this is danny's blocked oil pick up pipe

time for a new 1

Righto Ive took the Sump off which was really straight forward Was easyer than the ibiza Sump Yet there the same...

Anyway I didnt notice much on the pick up as i was looking for too much tbh...So a quick phone call to john and the Mesh on the retained was clogged full of sludge And slim...Ive sent john a picture of it as i cant up load it on my computer as its being gay but you can soon see on the dark parts were i scrapped it back a little bit

Think I shall be replacing the oil pick up too when I next service the car, oil and filter and new plugs and clean my Jetex air filter. These 1.8 20VT lumps are known for being a bit cloggy if that makes sense lol. Thanks for the heads up :)

Re: DaNnY_LaD's Leon Cupra R

ive also Put a deposit down on my new engine so should have that tuesday when i get paid....The fun begin plus waiting for Jenvey to get back to me for some prices

Re: DaNnY_LaD's Leon Cupra R

Ah I was gunna say you don't have luck lol , but that should be a fun toy make sure you get some pics of the build up

Re: DaNnY_LaD's Leon Cupra R

No not a 20vt Engine....its for my track toy im building as i want to stay away from modding the lcr..

So ive bought a c20xe Which will be going in a Nova With Either SBD/Jenvey Boddies with some Super wild Cams And Expensive SBD manifold...
Sounds good but I worry you'll get bored of the lack of speed.

My mate is building a MK1 Golf and had a MK2 16v with throttle bodies, 4 to 1 manifold etc etc.
He was looking at approx 170 - 190 BHP and approx 800 Kgs
For our local track this just isn't enough.
He's now bought a 1.8T 20V.

I've been on the track against a 205 GTI with an MI16 engine and I litterally walked past it in my 210 BHP LCR on the straights
You would/will soon get tired of being over taken on the straights.

Don't get me wrong, it will be amazing on the corners if set up well.

i know were your coming from but it will be a track toy considering i have never been on a track i don't really wanna run before i can walk...

a 190-220bhp N/a in a Nova would be a hoot to drive and it would have all the Handling done Proberly...its something i can work on instead of doing it to the LCR which is a massive no no...

Irrc a Nova fully stripped and cage is around 740kg irrc with fibre glass boot and carbon wings ect...i Can alway put a c20let in there at a later date but i have to learn how to drive first...

Re: DaNnY_LaD's Leon Cupra R

lol thats for my leon and its stayin on it....

I need to do this to keep me off the leon as its a daily car so i need it...A toy can be a on going project that doesnt have to be finished asap..

Yeah - just spotting where people are charging £100 to fit turbo's etc

Dodgy ground for that person, are the insured? Capable? but moreover if Z & I make nothing from the forum, why should people prowling the forum looking to make a buck?
