The temp on block 001 is coolant temp so that's pretty much fine. The percentage in the next column is the lambda correction values, I'm told within +/- 10% is within spec. Lambda values in block 031 look fine to me?

This page here is handy for working out what blocks do what, but it's not LCR specific obviously - http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/m_blocks/

Cars been taken this morning to my mates garage to be stripped and inspected..

If I'm lucky all il need is a new head ECT not a new bottom end..

Currently been sorting something out with Sammy for ferrea valvetrain and catcams....going to buy gates timing belt kit and new pumps ECT ...

Also looking at the Aem uego multi afr and egt setup too as it.defo needs monitoring ....i will know more today on were I stand...

Chin up and all that...

Danny, I've just bought Innovate MTX AFR gauges.
These are very good and very quick acting.
Got these from Graham Goode Racing

This is what I've been advised by my mapper to fit to keep a close eye on the AFR's

Bit pointless when I need it in view all the time.via gauge
Why do you need the EGT?

If you have oil pressure, oil Temperature, boost and AFR, that's 3/4 gauges.
Where you going to be putting other gauges?

Possibilities:

Boost and EGT

Oil pressure and temperature

Thanks Carl & 8bit...

But don't generic maps run rich up top anyway?

I've seen a few graphs and vagcom logs of remapped cars that show it richens up from about 4500rpm but I'd guess that different generic maps will behave differently. Apparently the stock, OEM map only richens up once EGTs get beyond a certain threshold, no idea what that is tho.

I guess Willie's already covered this with his gauge suggestions but I've just discovered that Stack do 52mm gauges as well - probably not cheap like (their integrated dash displays are very pricey apparently) but they look very slick: http://www.stackltd.com/instruments.html

I might treat myself to a white faced boost gauge :)

Good on you for working through this setback, I think I'd possibly have chucked the towel in. Hopefully the damage assessment brings as good news as it possibly can.

Tonights examination :

Head Cam Sprocket (Fine)
Bottom End Pulley (Fine)
Water Pump (Fine)
idler Pulley (Fine)
Tensioner (Looks Fine With zero Defects But will need removing to inspect throughout)
Cambelt (looks ****ed Doesnt seem to be snapped but im not allowed to exam more in to it...Inside of Cam housing cover is full of cambelt bits Rubber/fibreglass.....)

At this stage looks like a few teeth have failed and its slipped a few and slap slap slap,.....But Means the good news really as the cambelt kit supplied via GT has failed Either way its a cambelt Failure under Mileage Warrenty......

It was a neverous Moment as if the Water Pump Had Failed i woundlnt have a leg to stand on...Gt Are being very helpfull with my cause but will have to wait for the Inspector....

im gutted mate , shame was just about perfect n start to enjoy it

its pretty hard to get the 1.8 T cambelt wrong and if it was a tooth out would throw up a fault code.

setting the tension is done by the hydraulic tensioner so unless this had failed (which was new) and the oil was coming out thru the seal at the top. i cant see how the belt can fail unless its a bad 1 off the line .

fingers crossed it will get sorted ,

Mate bit of good luck so far then, glad to hear so far you seem on course for a warranty coverage.

Here's hoping for some further good luck

been following this thread, sorry about your bad luck mate, though it sounds promising i guess!

out of interest was it an OEM/gates belt?

Added 2 little stickers tonight and removed my Large Door revo ones Looks Better tbh...

Currently waiting on the Inspector now for timing belt....Then i can get one with it but they might only replace what is broken?Which makes sense tbh..

Currently placeing a order for Ferrea Valvetrain inlet and Exhaust Valves and New seats...I can't touch the engine in anyway till this guy has been...

Which is seariously bugging me as i wanna get on with it..

GT Inspector has rang my mechanic and there sorting out a date for ealier next week..

If they do nothing about it then far enough but its worth a try....If the bottom end is Fine then il have the £££ to take it further....

My Ideal Way would be to Replace Exhaust Valves with Fresh new Head Maybe Inlet if i can source the funds....Then Keep the Bam Pistons And replace with New OEM rings and Keep the rods as they should be alright? But they will need checking....

Currently thinking weather to ditch the K04 Setup all Together and go Bt....Either Gt2871R .86 or HTA 2886R with .86 with topmount.....The car is gettin used less and less so im wondering weather to get another Diesel as a Commuter for the family and have this as my car....
