Santa has come early for me!

after waiting 3 months I have finally got my piano black dash kit!

basically i ordered it through a local car place and they (and me!) got mucked about so much by pre woodec, with promises that it was on the next shipment and excuses after excuses that after 2 months i gave up and told my local shop to give up!

then after a couple of weeks whilst in my car i thought to myself it was a shame i didnt get it and thought id try one more time!

so i went to these guys... http://www.directcarparts.co.uk/buy-car-accessories/seat-leon-dash-styling-p-5711.html and explained the situation with Christine and asked whether they would get mucked about with pre woodec. she looked into it and said they should be able to get it within 14days.

sure enough 12 days later it arrived this afternoon from Germany!...

so il fit it 2mo :)

better be worth the wait/money! :headhurt: ;)

over and out! :)

Looks good, are you going to get the glove box cover and window bits etc? Need to get some black spray paint and do the auto leads facia to match

it comes with the glove box cover scott! ;)

and yes i plan to spray the auto leads facia cover and gear gaiter surround gloss black to match!

luckily my kenwood head unit has a gloss back surround, so it will match too! :D

oh yea... i looked in my garage tonight and i found some primer, lacquer and black paint!

a spray can of each! it will be more than enough for me to spray up the autoleads facia adaptor and gear gaiter surround in gloss black!

il do that 2mo as well as fit the kit and il get some pics up on thursday :)

that'll look good mate, have you not thought about one of these? http://www.thettshop.co.uk/osir.asp?cat=3077&product=701538
i think it would look the gerbils gonads!

that looks nice, but would look out of place imo!

also my kenwood head unit has a gloss black surround around that, so by spraying the autoleads facia surround gloss black together the head unit area will look spot on with the piano black dash kit!

also spraying the gear gaiter surround gloss black will look good too i think.

i would like to do the window switch surrounds in the doors, but il have to have a proper look to see what the score is as i have a feeling if i did it, it would mean i would have to spray over the writing/markings on it, and i certainly wont do that!

i have just done the 2nd coat of black paint... its looking super sexy already, and a very good colour match to the dash kit!

will post pics laters! :)

he he!

almost done!

the gear gaiter surround reacted to the paint... so i had to start again with that one... either i didn't sand it enough or there was grease on it or something.

and i sprayed the autoleads facia spot on and then went to put some lacquer on and it fcuked up... the lacquer spray can is about 2 years old and half full so i think it may have gone off.

and i ran out of black paint, so went to halfords to buy some more and some wet and dry sand paper.

lets start again!

so i used wet and dry and got the facia surround back to a lovely smooth finish (with a couple of coats of paint already on!)

and i took all the paint off the gaiter surround and re-sanded that down and then painted it again!

i have just done the final coat on both and they look spot on!

im not going to use a lacquer as it made it look too shiny with it on and without it it looks spot on when compared to the dash kit! so all is cool :)

pics later
