Sorry, don't get me wrong, I think it looks the mutts!
I think I'd attempt to get the matching din pieces as it's too close to the rest of the trim to compare it against where as the gear gaitor is separate so stands on it's own merits!

oh right i see what you mean now and in a way i agree with you, BUT im not bothered as it really does look good! and like i have said the pics didnt do it justice, but yes ur right... the dash kit is slightly more "reflective" id say... i have got the colour/shininess about 95% right... which is good enough for me!

especially wen i think if i had left it it would have looked still ok, but no where near as good! :)

il try and use my better camera later and post up, but im very busy 2day, about to clean the car then out xmas shopping etc etc... :)

might somehow modify the fr one ive got, i dont use it, when i get the rest of my trim sorted will do it

more pics...

i gave the autoleads facia adaptor a QUICK polish and used my better camera for a couple of pics... hope you like...

in the first pic it looks scratched, but its not really, well its not visable to the nacked eye! :)

as you can see its a pretty good match! :)

Ah, much better!!!
I'm still being picky but you can see the difference in shine...maybe another layer of lacquer and then sand with 1500+ wet/dry followed by a buffing?

Like I said, being very very picky but a very good match! How long did it take you to do?

cheers m8!

and lol @ your pickyness! ;)

like i said before its 95% the same, so thats good enough for me.

as for lacquer there isn't any... i simply couldn't be bothered it fcuked up! (see post #19!)

i also think the minute difference in shine is down to the CURVE of the dash kit... its slightly convex! ;)

anyways was easy to do and i didn't do a professional job, but all the same i still did a good job of the actual spraying as im a dab hand with a spray can (well i think so!)

I sanded the parts,
one coat of primer (didn't have enough left in my garage! lol)
then gloss black paint from halfords.

i tried lacquer on the facia adaptor but it came out crap (due to being a 2 year old half used can imo) and also the gear gaiter surround paint reacted so i had to use wet and dry to sand them both back down and then respray them with the black gloss paint...

so basically its a coat of primer and a few coats of gloss black paint!

will be more than good enough for the job
