You need:
5F0920790A - Virtual Cockpit unit
5F0857053 1QB - the plastic trim/bezel around it
Most Fiber Optic cable for connection between Nav unit in glovebox and VC.

After that it should be coded by dealer or remotely by somebody. You have to bring both of the keys to the dealer, so they can adapt them to the new dash.

Also when you do it, bring the car to the dealer with full tank of fuel, so they can calibrate easily.

Send those part numbers to your dealer and ask them for prices and fitting.

Cheers chap. Will have a look into this.

@kickdown do you know what the difference between the revision a and b units is.
I am not quite sure if there is revision B. Mine is 5F0920790 without index in the end. The 5F0920790A units have some added futures and cool looks - central Rev counter, carbon background. etc. Same price but better functions. If there is 5F0920790B it should be the newest, greatest unit.

OK Maybe that its A being the second version that i got confused with.

Thanks very much for quick reply.

Which is not that bad at all. Skoda units go for well over 1000£ and VW/Audi units go between 800-950GBP.

Seat ones are the chepest.

Yeah and then they told me it couldn’t be done. They sent me this email ;
Hello Sir

You will not be able to change a standard dash insert over to the new digital version as the body wiring harness is totally different. The instrument panel alone is £661.00

Thanks

Total BS! My dealer told me the same and after getting fed up with me they decided to give it a try...and guess what! It worked!

Nevertheless there are independent guys that can do it remotely.

So it definitely can be done then? I have the new Cupra 300 and it’s an 18 67 Reg. Do you have any contacts for the people that can do it independently?
Cheers.

Yup. There is one guy in Germany - www.thomatek.de.

If his website doesn't work, go on Facebook and find the following page: "Coding & retrofit Niederrhein" he responds to messages and has more contacts over there. Really cool guy.

There are quite a few places that can do it in the UK, VW Retrofit, Vagtec.co.uk , VAG car coding, I'm sure any of those can do it.
Yeah just all depends on what they charge!! The unit, as I said, is £661. Be nice to get it all done for under a grand!!

Cheers chap, maybe have to try something over here if I’m serious about doing it.
@paddy6789 is looking to have my old one for his R when we update mine to Rev A. It'll be at least a month or 2 yet before I can afford it though. However we'll let you know how we get on.

As for the price. I've been quoted £611.22 delivered by Listers/RPS Online.

I already have it and would say, if I was buying a car and it cost £610 to spec, I'd spec it.

Yeah that’s actually really good isn’t it when you think about it. How much to fit and sort it all then would you say?

Have you also got a link to the part and quote you got chap??

Just one thing to add, I've been told by a few garages that if you either retrofit it yourself or have an independent do it, be careful about your car being connected to ODIS and the virtual cockpit not being registered on there for your car. Any main dealer should be able to update it or any decent independent specialist should be able to too.
