I have a Ibiza cupra tdi and im having a few problems with the front passenger side brake.

The problem arose one morning about 2 months whilst turning right i heard a grinding metal on metal noise. This brought on the abs and traction control lights within 20miles or so. I knew my discs and pads where wearing thin so went to have them changed. The garage replaced the abs sensor aswell as they said it was faulty. The new disc's where still rubbing on the caliper above the pad. The garage said my caliper carrier was bent.

A few months before this id have a wheel bearing fail on that side after 30k miles.

I took the car back to the garage where i had the wheel bearing replaced who identified the peice which holds the caliper carrier and the wheel bearing (described as a knuckle) was bent. This was replaced along with another bearing as the old one wouldnt come out.

After this the car ran fine for around 3 weeks then the problem re-occured. I took the car back in and they identified the drive shaft was very slightly bent. This was replaced and the car drove out ok only for the problem to return after arounf 20miles.

The only incident i can link to this is hitting a curb pretty hard about 16 months ago now.

Anybody have any ideas?

Did you manage to sort out the problem mate?
I've got the same problem and I don't have the cash to fix thing by trial and error

It has been known for the bearing to move in the hub with the MK4 ibiza.

It's crazy but the bearing is only held in by friction.

If this is your problem I would guess that the disc is touching its outside face on the caliper ( IE the disc and hub have moved OUT from the upright )
