Maybe next time he'll blow an engine component as it screams for submission, while you just sail past.
I felt so gutted I actually wanted to sell my car at one point, when I was overtaken by a CORSA VXR !!!
But then I thought to myself, who cares, I drive a 'classy' Leon, something to be proud of - not like him, stuck behind the wheel of some factory chavved up Corsa (that I wouldnt be seen dead driving)! lol.
haha, Yes, to be fair i heard his engine screaming as i went by so it was defo at higher revs than the Leon.
Oh now i did have a battle with a VXR corsa the other week lol. As he wheel spin away i caught him right up and had to keep taking my foot away.
Kin: Yeah I guess just a case of different engines, different gears. I took a guy out in mine the other week who owns a new S3 and he said my Leons definatly on par with the S3 mid speed around 30-60, but guessing after that I stand no chance.
Yeah i bet they are alot lighter. My ibiza used to feel like a gokart compared with the leon. I didnt realise the Altea weighed that much though!
Think the weights you are quoting is their fully loaded weights, with a driver and a tank of fuel they should be
Leon ~ 1350Kg
Altea ~ 1430Kg
Altea XL ~1500Kg
^ Interesting thread mds1256, plus your 'benchmark' hill.
The last 2 sentences say alot! Plus the VXR had the extra weight of FOUR Passengers, yet still clocked up a better speed! Says alot for the Leon (any similar spec'ed Leon) in the same circumstances.
...but again, I'd rather be driving a 'sophisticated' Leon any day, than ANY chavvy Vauxhall ! (no matter how much faster it might be).
Now then guys..
My Mrs was so annoyed with the issues with her DPF as she usually does short journeys that after a long think we decided the only way was to get the DPF deleted and mapped out last week.
It was done by a company called ECU-Flash in Sheffield. Friendly guy and seems to know his stuff.
This is mainly my wifes car that she uses to take kids to school so we didnt want no miltek pipe or anything fancy like that.
ECU-Flash do not fit a Miltek delete pipe. They remove the dpf from the housing and remove all regeneration processes which stop it regenning.
Soon after getting it done I did 250 miles that day and have since done about another 200 miles.
So far no issues but will keep you guys posted if there are any. The car feels a lot faster but still drives like a factory car should and id estimate it to be atleast 200-210 bhp although no rolling road was done.
Price £400 including life time guarantee.
My Mrs is finally loving the car.

Got mine booked in at a company in Nottinghamshire for next Tuesday although not sure I need it......
I've had a series of problems. Last week the engine management light came on when I started up in the morning. Then when I left work the DPF light came on also. The car was running ok so I spoke to the local garage to pop it in in the morning. Following morning on the way to work/garage I lost power and noticed the glow plug light had joined the light party on the dash. This was flashing though and the other two were static. Limped to the garage and dropped it in. Called at lunch saying they thought it the DPF. I called Letchworth autoway (where I'd bought the car last December) and told them the story. They took it in last Friday. It was a pressure switch that was damaged and covered by the warranty, however this had let the DPF run without regen which meant it had gone beyond 90% so was too saturated to regen. Not covered, even as consequential damage. Letchworth autoway wanted £1,740 to do the work. Told them I couldn't afford it and would pick the motor up. Pick it up yesterday. On the way back, in limp mode, the car suddenly came back to life and the glow plug light had gone out. By the time I got back to the office the DPF light had gone out. Drove home after work and by the time I was home the engine management light was also off. WTF??! Been fine today, although it does seem to lag pulling away in first gear, but this problem isn't new. It's been doing this for a few weeks and caused me to stall pulling out of junctions a few times over those weeks. No idea what is going on. Although I had entertained the idea of DPF delete when I bought the car, it was a as-and-when idea. Certainly not flush at the moment, but I'm wondering whether to have the work done anyway as I'm now worried this problem may rear it's ugly head again :/
