The Leaving Home lights was accepted by the car but didn't work, probably because the car doesn't have a light sensor, I was hoping they would come on anyway.

+1 for this ... Was hoping to get the DRLs to come on when you unlock the car.. The kia did this and it makes the car look like its just come alive!

Guys, I switched on Coming Home/Leaving Home function whilst testing out my cable on my 8P Audi A3, which doesn't have light sensors, and it worked. Lights just come on regardless day or night. There was a separate bit function where I selected 0 for personal rather than selecting 1 for auto (which I assume would mean it uses the light sensor)

Just wondering if you checked for any other options, for your Leon? The new Mk3 platform could be completely different so I could be leading you down completely the wrong path :) But I will try and see if I did a screen shot of the option I changed after enabling CH/LH function.

So you did a coding change as well as the adaptation to turn it on in the menu?

My cable arrived yesterday, quite quick ordered 4th Jan and arrived 10 days later.

Got it set up on the XP virtual machine as per previous setup guide. Hope to try it on the car this evening.

I don't think I did a coding change, sorry if my original terminology is incorrect and confused you.

This is what I did, I followed the guide for my 8P A3 here:

http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/seat-leon-5f/zeigertest.php

The first screen shot on my english version looks like this:

Coming%20Home.jpg

I basically put a tick next to BIT 7 and clicked on DO it! to save.

I then went to Byte 2 like on the German instructions but I unfortunately didn't take a screen shot of my english version. But looking at the Screen shot in German:

CH2.jpg

IIRC the translated English text for BIT 4 was ' Coming-Home Mode (0=Personalised / 1 = Auto)
So I removed the tick in BIT 4 as I didn't have the light sensor as I believe if you leave it to auto it uses the light sensor, then exited the menu and clicked Do it!

But like I said, I'm not sure how the new Leon is set up so i could be giving you all false hopes! :)

Thanks buddy. There are options in the central electronics adaptations. I altered them but it did nothing. What you did is a coding change, il check that out when im next home.

Well done mine tonight got the following done:

Alarm chirp on lock/unlock and display enable/disable from the car settings menu
Dipping passenger mirror which works, hasn't not returned to position so far (tried quite a few times)
Staging Needle Sweep
Fan speed when set to Auto

Also activated rain closing and rear wiper teardrop - no idea if they work or not.

Tried to do the cornering fogs but all that happened was both came on at once when the headlights were on, double checked the coding but I guess something went wrong though unsure what???

This is on an SE model.

@nokia
Check very closely that you have selected the correct option, I had one correct and one wrong and my RH fog was on permanent. There are two options both start with the same 5 or 6 characters but are spelt differently.. Abbiegelicht richt or something where as the my RH was on abbie####(something else) richt

Thanks got it working now, you are right 2 very similar options starting Abbie*** Rechts/Links

Its the lower of the similar wording in the list that works.

Cheers

Also to point out that Dip Mirror when reversing also appear in the car setup menu.

Glad you got it going!
I enabled my mirror drop also but it consistently doesn't return to it correct position, I personally think this is a positive though because it may point to sofware issue rather than hardware.. If it was irregular then that may suggest a intermittent hardware issue.

I've found the mirror does return to position if you reverse for a short time then drive forward. When I reverse out of my garage and wait for a short while for the OH to get out of the house it goes up but short of the original position. If you switch the car off after reverse parking then it never comes back up. So the longer its in the dipped position the less likely it will come back up.

Thanks for clarifying what I did was actually coding. Still learning about VCDS :)

Hey guys, good news, I picked up my new car today and can confirm that SEAT have finally fixed the mirror drop issue. Not sure whether the updated software or firmware of the module but when I get a chance to hook VCDS up to the car I will upload the scan results for you guys to check.

Here is what I posted on another thread on how the mirror dip worked for me:

You can set the angle you want the mirror to dip when put in reverse, my default position from the factory was rubbish unless the kerb was 2ft tall!

The change can be done by moving the mirror switch position to L, put the car into reverse, then adjust mirror to desired position, then take the car out of reverse and it stores that position. The mirror will dip when reverse gear is engaged and then it will go back to original position after any of the following conditions are met:

1) You drive off

2) You change the mirror switch to a different position, like 0 or R for example

3) You switch your engine off

I had the dipping mirror on a Golf Mk6 you always had to drive forward above about 25mph to make the mirror return.
my dipping mirror returns to its normal position after this and when i take the key out after reversing, every time so far. i found this in the Ibiza and Alhambra to do with the motorway lights but the long coding helper seems to be miss for that controller in my vcds

stemei.de/pages/coding/seat-ibiza-6j/autobahnlicht.php

the link i posted before works, the car now shows how many litres it will take to refill the tank. this can also be changed to gallons

Think it must be a software update, If I move my mirror down any further that it moves when 1st put into reverse it doesn't full return to where it was (my Golf did). Other than that it works as described above.
