MK4 IBIZA CUPRA

Hello folks, As title suggests. I've done a search and nothing comes up only one really complicated thing regarding VAG Diagnostics.

I was doing a little bedtime reading last night through the Seat Manual :headhurt:. Somewhere in it said that if you lock the car and hold down the lock button the windows should go up automatically if they are open. I've tried this a couple of times and it didnt work. Does anyone have any idea if this is correct or not (57 Ibiza Cupra TDI). Cheers ;)

There is a note in manual about relearning auto shut windows after you have had the battery off .. you have to lock and hold key for a second on the drivers door key. It then remembers how to auto shut the windows;
1. when you are using electric windows they "latch" and continue to move once you remove your finger.. and only stop when you pulse switch again. (otherwise this does not work when you first reattach the battery).
2. I guess they would shut the windows if you held the key in the lock position .. think you have to lock doors, then relock but hold the key over for 1 second.

Works on an 05 Cupra tdi.

Is there not a 1 time plug and play device out there to get the windows to go up when the central locking button is hit.

What you have to do is lock the car best way is to do it with the key in the lock turn it to the left and hold it there for a bit. If nothing happens within 3 seconds then there is something wrong.

Just a note but it should work both ways, unlock the car by turning it to the righ and hold it there...... windows will roll down.

You can't make the windows go up or down via the buttons for remote locking unless you buy an aftermarket device, you have to physically insert the key into the lock and turn.

Can't set up the buttons to open/close windows via vag.com, been discussed on their threads.

Cheers guys, Tried the keys in and turning - worked up and down - I think I will need to go for an aftermarket device. Called a VAG Specialist in Paisley they say they have heard of it, very helpful over the phone. So i'll pop in tomorrow and see what there all about. ;) p.s. - What is VAG.com?? Im guessing its a website? or some kind of car programming application?

VAG COM is a programme you can get 4 ur computer which when used wiv a serial port you can connect ur car to ur computer and read off fault codes and even do things to your car like make it auto lock when drive off and beep when you lock it! It can be quite good for fault diagnosing! :D

Its a good bit of kit!

User friendly?? Might invest - Although I wont know what im doing! lol

Not sure about that, sum1 will know tho! VAG COM programme can be downloaded for free iirc, its the cable thats expensive, think ebay is one of the cheapest places!

So this is all i need then for the windows to close via remote when locking??

note: KVW100 doesnt work for Ibiza's built after May 2005. Also, VAG-COM is not capable of programming the auto-window-closure on the Ibiza 6L (Mk4), this is only possible on the newer cars (like Leon 2), by using the registered (expensive) version of Vag Com.

For the Ibiza's that were built before May 2005, it is possible to program the Comfort-module in such a way that auto-window is possible. You will need a serial OBD2-cable and VDS-PRO for this.

KVW100 window closure unit about £25 plug it in, it beeps, job done
go to vagproducts.co.uk. Doesn't work on the face lift models eg ones with comfort packs.

Superb Ric cheers mate, thats next on my shopping list

Rubbish! What a bummer - So it wont work on my 57 plate Ibiza Cupra?? I was looking forward to buying it too! [:@] Is there anyway round this?? :censored:

Ric 2001: Yes, I'm sure. I have an October -05 -built Ibiza, and it has a Comfort Module. They have this module since 2002.
