I installed the FR bumper on my TDi sport only to find the front bumper came from a car with headlight washers, leaving me with two holes in the front.

I have the headlamp washer covers waiting for me at the local dealer, but they are currently primer grey.

Any suggestion how I should go about painting them?

I have no experience of painting cars and would like to make an excellent job of them.

Just fit james bond style machine guns poking out.

Painting small parts like that would be simple enough if you could get the paint easily enough.. Do the caps just click in? But if the dealer would do it free of charge then obviously thats your best bet.

Looks great by the way!

I like the idea of the machine guns, do you think the law would allow that? :)

My original thought was to get a can of paint from Seat when I pick these up, but speaking to the parts chap, he didn't know if it was available. I don't fancy the idea of getting a decent finish with a touch up kit!

Who would have thought this would be so bloody involved?

Why dont you get the colour code or take an item that is coloured correctly to a car paint merchat bay it from there as its solid you will get an ok finish

the colour code for emocion red is 'S3H' by the way.

i just happened to know that as i needed to find that out to get some parking sensors colour coded a little while ago. the guy who did my parking sensors knew someone who could colour code them for him, and i think it was from a Seat body shop anyway so that might be your best bet.

im sure they can do it, its just how much they will charge you for the privilege thats the decider

To be honest on non flush parts like that (i presume they sit a little raised) i doubt you would notice a "slight" colour difference. In fact i think even with the paint from seat when you look at it you wont be able to tell if it's an exact match. Either that or it will stick out like two sore thumbs. I'm on the fence.
