Engine light on and Temp reading 4.5 all the time!!

Hi all, could anyone help please.

I have an 04 Ibiza, the engine diaognosis light has recently come on and staying on. Also the outside temp reading(the one near the heater control) is always reading 4.5 degrees. Have these two faults got anything in common?

Also the Air con is not working but i read somewhere that it wont work if the temp is under 5 degrees outside, so if the car thinks its on 4.5 the air con wont work??

You're correct about the AC not working if it thinks it's less than 5 deg outside.

A new sensor is prob needed, (mounted in the front bumper grill IIRC)

IMO the other fault is not connected.
