engine management light

took the car to main dealer on friday they told me brake pedal switch was faulty brake lights still work but this trggered the fault on dash board is this a common fault?

if the brakes are working and light comes on when braking.
Jus try this quick method, this may help clear the light on the dash.
Disconnect the battery for 15mins aprox. Then reconnect. may clear the problem

Replace the switch, extremely common problem and if the new switch is pink, buy 10 and you may get one that works.

Had a few of these go down on VAG cars, if its a 4 pin switch then they have two circuits inside. one for the brake light circuit and the other side is for the ECU. if either side fail then the light will show on the dash. Easy to replace but you do get naff ones straight out the box.
