engine managment light and heater lights flashing

was leaving my estate today and i stalled my 1.9tdi fr leon, so i put it into second and let the clutch out to get her going again, car started and drive on but the heater light and the engine diagnostic lights are on now and i dont know what to do. has it happened to anyone else and do you think it would be ok to leave until the service in about 1k?

that's a new one on me, maybe it will clear after a few normal starts, keep us posted

have you noticed anything else that doesn't seem quite right?
not pulling cleanly, more smoke, flat spotting...

if not, may be ok but no harm in vag-com if you have or know somebody who does own it

car is running at 100% nothing odd at all, have it going in to seat in the morning and the will run it through the computer and reset it if they find no problems, knowing my luck they will charge me a fortune and just take the bulbs out!!!

try to cycle the ignition on and off 3 times and then see what happens

I seem to recall I did one or two rolling restarts at reasonable speed in the Ibiza (TDI 130), and while it ran fine I think I had some warning lights come up - but don't think they stayed on though, at least not after a proper restart. Was a while ago mind

well got up and went to bring the car to the garage and they had all gone out and the car is still running ok, i can only assume the turning of the key did the trick as i didnt do anything else. thanks goble much appriciated

my plug light comes on if you stall and restart quick but normally it goes off again after you've left it switched off for a little while.

I have an ibiza 1.9tdi (130) and a similar thing has happened although without the bump start. My climate control display flashes on startup (which it didnt used to) and my Engine management light has come on. The car seems to run fine, and I have given it a basic check over and everything seems fine. Its just out of warranty (feb) and havent had time to book it in anywhere to diagnose the fault code yet - Has anybody else had this problem or know the cause?????

best thing is to vag-com check it, that way we can see error codes
if you or mate doesn't have; post a request in the vag-com section

My glow plug light started flashing and it was the brake light switch believe it or not.

that is correct leontdi, but fribiza was indicating that his has both lights flashing and the glow plug (heater) flashing i believe is only relevant to leon brake light issue.
