im looking at getting a Eibach front arb, polyflex front bushes (front of wishbone) seat cupra bushes (for rear of front wishbone) and polyflex bushes for the rear of the car.

i wondered what the labour cost would be, so i got a rough idea of what to expect, what sort of time should it take. ive had a quote allready from a well know VAG specialist for fitting and was quoted £300 + VAT!!! which i thought was a little steep. but saying that i dont know how long it will take.

It's easy if you have the press tools made up and take the sub frame off which is a pretty easy job. Don't try and do it with the subframe still on the car! But £300 is probs in the right ball park. Try awesome gti if you're near them.
 
bloody hell was hopeing it would be cheaper, does subframe drop mean engine as well??

No, but dropping the crossmember means unbolting the steering rack that is fixed to the upper surface of the crossmember.
 
Just get front curpa bushes and front rear powerflex done. FIT rear ARB yourself it's easy. Why you want a front ARB changed, I thought about this but when I heard the labour same as you I was put off and thought better of it.
 
I've had my front ARB changed with some Powerflex ARB bushes and it cost around £85 for labour (all in) at my local VAG specialist. Of course, changing all the other bits will add time and money.

How low is your car? The H&R arb has bigger hoops to clear the O/S driveshaft if your car is substantially lowered like mine is.
 
myn lowered 50mm on eibach coilovers, hence why i went for a eibach ARB. i wanted the front swapped as the standard was is prone to failure, and i was having bushes done anyway, plus i was told it realy tightens the front end up and helps reduce understeer, opposed to a R-ARB which trys to incorage oversteer.
 
What you are doing sounds okay as does the price as it will include a full four wheel re-alignment, if you are wanting to trim costs why not leave out changing the rear beam bushes as these cars will not load up the rear enough to justify that mod - especially if it is not full Cupra spec.
 
it doesnt need rear bushes yet, but i want the rear swapped as im goin hybrid in the near future, so im upgrading bits gradually:
-exhaust (done)
-pd160/green panel air intake (done)
-suspension (neary done)
-brakes
-diff and clutch
-cylinder head/cam
-intercooler
-turbo!!!

cheers will give them a ring. yeah it did look good when i saw it this morning, only thing i will say is the side lights dont show well
