For those wanting to honeycomb the CUPRA R bumper (upper)

With of course my custom made debadge centre piece...

Looks just as i thought it would... not to much honey comb but looks more uniform than the OEM slats...

P.S. i will be making a slatted centre de badge from my old slats on the upper grill so watch out for that being up for sale soon!

Its the space that the honeycomb piece didnt reach too.. so i had a choice scrap the idea or make up something that would fit in but also not stand out... so i went for a black "shield" in the bonnet release area...

I would have done the honeycomb all the way to the top but as the honeycomb is a particular pattern i could co join it with any other honeycomb pieces i had...
After market honeycomb doesnt do the same spacing and size honeycomb so it would look odd in the middle of identical honeycombs... so thought it was the best idea i could come up with...
Bit of a marmite idea, but when you look at the car as a whole, its not "as" noticable!

Bringing the plastic to flush would as you said, not allow access to the bonnet release!

As for the Knightrider lol

Think i may spray it to match the car colour later, but may in the end figure something else out!?

How about a 'Cupra' badge on it? I reckon the one with red lettering would look really good there.

Not overly keen on the top solid section in the centre, but the rest looks really good.

Small plate is a nice touch too!

I'm liking it, the honeycomb looks much better than the slats. Saying that, I'd still have the S badge in he middle, I'm not so keen on the de-badged aspect.

Thanks so much for your input.. I'm guessing you have the best looking Leon on the site, with the most power also.

The bike plate is not to disimilar to about 10 members on here to, some have even smaller.

So if you would be so kind and keep your negitive thoughts to your self and continue on to the next thread!

Just a thought, but if you managed to get a lower grill (bit under the bumper) on the cheap could you "cut it up" to get the extra honeycomb you need to fill the space at the top, you would have some left to do more if required. May not be cost effective or physically possible, just a suggestion. Looks good though, I prefer the honeycomb to the slats.

how is the bonnet release catch on the facelift cupra models as i want the honeycombe grill inserts and wondered if they would fit my car?

Looks good, definately think that the honeycomb sides matches the bumper so much better, but not sure on the centre badge bit. Maybe a standard one sprayed black would look better, kind of like what RobDon has done on his?

Have you got the part number for the honeycomb part, I'm assuming it's the one from the straight Cupra?
