Fitted the charger today. Working perfectly. For now I cut the holes in the mat that I had. Waiting for shipping the new mat to my dealership. It may take 4 more weeks.

Thanks @Remis for a very comprehensive tutorial.

Does the facelift Cupra Formentor 2025 have a cooling feature in the wireless charging pad? Mine seems to still heat up regardless when charging and i cant seem to locate any vent openings in the cooling pad. I am sure i heard in a review that it did have this feature but i could be wrong.

Take a picture of how your pad looks. When I tested the facelifted VZ and had the loaner Service 1.5 version, it used the same cooled charger. Even with cooling, the phone still warms up when charging wirelessly, but not as much as it does on a pad without cooling and it charges faster.

Hello ,

I know this is an old thread, but I am looking at a cooled wireless charger for my 2022 Leon MK4 as the current one gets really hot and doesn't charge my phone properly.
Am I correct in thinking I need these parts from a dealer?

6VA035502 for the charger plate with fan
5FB863330B 4PK for the vented rubber mat.

Many thanks.

Hello,

Yes you are correct. Just bear in mind that if seat/cupra dealer won’t be able to offer 6VA035502 part you can check Skoda dealer (i took from broken newer model Skoda Scala L&K).

Thank you, I did watch that item on ebay earlier so will look at purchasing. Do you know how much the part was new from a dealer when you were looking to purchase? Just wondering whether to buy a used part or new.

Just a note to say thanks for the info here. I have fitted 6VA035502 (£50 off a 2025 Polo on Ebay) and it works great. But the issue is the mat 5FB863330B 4PK. I ordered it as it was a non stock item and it appears to be for a LHD only as the rear upper section doesn't fit. Do you happen to know what the RHD part number of the mat would be?

The image below shows the pointed section is on the opposite side on the new mat.

It's on the other side on yours...

Update: The correct part number for the RHD version rubber vented mat is 5FC863330B 4PK.

Do we know if 6VA035502 is 5W or 15W?
I have a Samsung galaxy s25+ and when I place the phone on the charger it says "fast wireless charging" but I wsa trying an app to check the charging speed and it stays around 5w.

It could be because I was using android auto and is showing the "charging" minus whats being used

According to a Russian retrofit blog, it is known to be 15W.
One retrofitter using an iPhone reported 5W, but thought iOS might be limiting non MagSafe chargers.
Another one confirmed that they got 15W.

I´ve tried today with another wireless charger that I know it can go up to 15W and my phone was only charging at around 6-7W. So is definetly my phone. I´ll try again with less battery to see if the phone is limiting it because is almost full.

Also For those of us that changed from the charger with antenna to the 6VA035502 that doesn´t have the antenna; I´ve opened the original charger and the antenna seems to be a PCB board glued to the charger. there is no connections between the charger and the PCB board except for the heat disipator that connects where the red circle is but is not connected to the antenna circuit. I wonder if the 6VA035502 would have a blank board just as holder and it could be replaced. Or if we could take the antenna board from the original charger an place it under the charger.

I have a different issue. Due to the fact that the QI charging is "not usable" I wanted to unplug it, to stop it working at all. I lifted the rubber cover and disconnected charger, but I can’t get the rubber cover back in. The problem is the three front rubber tabs (from the center to the right) that won’t slide back into their slots. All the others fit fine, including the front two on the left, but those last three just won’t go in. Any trick to make it work?

That happened to me just with one of the front ones. I "shaved" a bit and then it fitted.

And does it hold in place firmly then?
I was wondering if WD40 would help, lubricate it? Just did not have enough time to play with it..
