Well I have ordered some matt black vinyl to complete my proposed photoshop on p2. will update on my progress, fingers crossed it will arrive tomorrow morning:D

Well I ordered some vinyl from ebay (£5 inc P&P):) and it arrived, couldn’t wait to get stuck in to putting it on behind the number plate. I changed my mind and decided not to put any on the bottom lip of the bumper. Here are a few before pictures of the removal of the number plate, surround and then gave the area a quick clean and clay to remove any contaminants:

I had already cut out the vinyl so I used soapy water (as a lubricant) and applied it, looked a bit like this:

I wasn’t too bothered about the large bubble on the right as that was where the number plate screw went. However after sitting there trying to get it to stick I ran out of time and had to put the plate back on, at this time I was pleased with the result:

On returning to the car the following day, I noticed that the vinyl had not stuck to the body. I removed plate and surround and started again. But while standing there I thought to myself could I get to the grill and do the “S” badge. So I gave it a go.

I managed to squeeze my had in and unclip the grill, removed the “S” badge and started to apply vinyl. Once the “S” was done I go carried away and did the chrome around the grill.

I then went back to the garage and put on the vinyl behind the number plate, this time a different method. I used screen wash to prep the area and didn’t used any soapy water. Went on better than the 1st lot and here is the results of a couple hours work:

:D:D

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

looks good mate, lot better than the first attempt looked like you cut it too short at the top corners (dunno if it had just slipped)

S badge and crome look good as well top work :)

edit - i think if you have some left over then the bottom lip and down the side of the grill would look good as well. If not just remove it and the whole wrap was a 5er so not much to lose :)

Just noticed once I had uploaded, if I have enough left and a bit of time ill adjust it, but I think when stood looking it cant be seen:whistle:

Id like to do the rear S badge, does it come apart in the same way? Ill have to wait on that though as I cant get in the boot the handle is knackered, going to Seat tomorrow to fix (for the 2nd time) i hope, at least the warranty comes in handy for some things
