Hi, i am looking to upgrade for the front mount intercooler would this be alot more benefit than the two intercoolers i aleady have on my LCR. I do not want to spend loads and have seen a fe won ebay to fit golf mk4 1.8t or audi 1.8t etc but none for a leon cupra r. what pipe work would i need to fit this has anybody done it? eg has anybody brought a front mount intercooler and managed to pipe it up ?

forge are very good quality products but the intercooler kit is just too much money for the performance gains unless you are going to run a massive turbo and go all out on a engine rebuild with performance parts. which i am not.
i wanted it more for the look i suppose and also it would benefit obviously. so two nice gains but not for the price of a forge one, but like you said you get what you pay for.
some of the intercoolers i have seen look pretty good and up to the job and many people have used universal intercoolers for different vehicle applications so i dont see any problem with that. after all its going to do more of less the same job as the forge. although my problem is i cant find any pipework to match up to any or even find a specific kit for a cupra r.

I'm sure if you speak nicely to Forge they'd offer some sort of deal ;) They've done a few group buys on them in the past which gave some big savings. Another option could be ProAlloy >>> http://www.proalloy.co.uk/cgi-bin/sitewise.pl?act=det&pt=52_62_634&p=633&id=proalloy There are a few people on here with this intercooler.

Still, if you want it purely for looks, unless you remove your front grille you're not going to see much of it. If you're looking for power gains, again, you'll be disappointed. Power gains will be very little, if anything at all. The only thing you will notice is that you lose less power in hot weather due to lower intake temps with the FMIC.

The side mount intercoolers are good enough for non big turbo set ups.
If your buying a FMIC then either PA or forge is the only way, this has been researched by many people and its not finantially worth the hastle.
Forge will sell you the whole set up with modified crash bar for £600, it sounds like alot but its alot of product too.

Did one for mate out one of the Golf Mk4 ones on his car few months ago cheap one from ebay, bit of a pain as it had zero instructions but after you just look at the pipes it all comes together fine, had to buy one of these for it but for less that 230quid all in delivered it a great deal!

I've fitted a universal front mount to my LCR, cost around 150 all in.

I'll stick a pic up soon
