Green cotten filter deposit

Evening folks,

While removing the airbox today i've got my hands covered in what can only described as green "dust". Having a closer look its all over the MAF exit end, the rubber/plastic feed pipe that goes off down to the rear of the engine.

Now i've cleaned it all up the best i can (drilling the airbox while having it stripped) and the stutter i had has gone.The green filter is 5 mths old and looks in a fair condition.

Is this a commen thing that i need to keep an eye on??

I have not got anything like this on mine; and my green cotton filter has been on approx 1 year / 15k miles.

I'll have a look at myne in the next day or so.... havent checked it for about 8k now. Last time i looked it just had a little dirt on it as expected.

maybe it needs oiling? too dry = perish perhaps?

To dry does sound like the problem...just running my fingers over the mesh lift loads of green dust.There was little muck in there.
Is there a type of oil to use??

have a look on their website or JKM motor services (who stock green). There may be a specific maintenance kit
