anyone used halfords fuel filters...just servicing my cupra and now the parts department is now closed! Halfords sell them (own brand) for about £8

any positive or negative comments?

cheers

When I was working away my fuel filter died, pissing petrol over street, wife driving car
Told her to phone AA, they came out and said he thought it was the Fuel filter and he could get one from Halfords, fit it and job done
Because I was away I wanted Seat to look at it
They did, it was the fuel filter and it cost me £70 for the pleasure
The moral of this story, £8 is cheaper than £70;) (including Seat labour)

Halfords parts aren't made by some bloke named Halford, sitting in a Halford factory somewhere. They just slap their name on them.

A lot used to be made by Lucas etc.

They don't try out perform their competition, they just build to OEM standard.
It's a fuel-filter.

i just bough one from gsf for 6.50 quid. i stopped going to halfruads, they quality puts me abit down.

ha ha I know they aren't made by halfords.....only ask as I know the quality of non manufacturer parts can be a bit hit and miss sometimes

Halfords stuff can be better quality than some oem stuff as they are diy fit items and are designed to be fitted by hamfisted fcuks.

right I decided to wait to get one from the dealer and went today and he brought out a massive fuel filter with 2 pipes one side and one on the other....part number 1JO127401A. He said it was £25?

is that right?

went and had a look at the halfords one and its got one pipe in and one out and looks closer to the size?

any ideas or pics of one off the car ?

It's a cylindrical filter, about 7inches in length and has a pipe either end! :)

Get on your back, get your head under the side-skirts of the off-side, near the rear-wheel and take a peek :)
