Looking for a few bits to improve handling.

could anybody give me some feedback on what you have done the most to improve handling?

I am thinking abour a rear anti roll bar and a front top strut brace.

How much would this improve the handling if any?

What front strut brace would you recommend? an s3 has been but is that a standard s3 one you mean (do they come fitted standard to front?)

Does any strut brace fit the leon or does it have to be one specific for a 1.820v cupra r?

for instance a quick look on ebay reveals , fits all models but DOES IT?? anybody know if they are different between cupra r etc

I'd do both front and rear ARB's along with the top strut brace, this would improve the handling quite alot. Some ppl on here have got the rear strut brace aswell. As far as I know the S3 strut brace will fit, D.K had 1 fitted last yr

yep, S3 strut brace fits perfectly on my 2001 LC

best mod I have done is the Neuspeed front and rear ARB's. Coupled with coilovers, the handling is awesome

Front strut brace - the S3 one is the only one that will clear the engine cover properly..so the ones on ebay are a lie.

Rear ARB - go for a neuspeed bar as these are the only ones which don't "knock" on the standard exhaust back box.

Front ARB - The LCR has a 19mm front as standard, fitting just a rear will reduce under steer significantly, and doesn't require a geometry check after, whereas fitting a different front ARB will require a geometry check.

Rear Spacers - Made a massive difference to my LCR increasing stability under braking and in fast cornering (15mm)

Hopefully to the point :)

Iv got the S3 upper and lower on mine, i had to cut a little piece out of the top one so that it wouldnt foul the bonnet lifter, but fits perfectly!!

As above plus get the engine mounts changed to INA street density ones with a track density dog bone mount (DBM) and you rear wishbone bushes changed for Audi TT roadster ones and you will have a very nice handling car that will be a match for any Type R

Audi TT roadstar ones? are they uprated over my standard ones then? would they not mismatch the front bushes?

The TT roadster ones are the stiffest LCA rear OEM bushes you can get.
They are a perfect match for all the Leon range. these are stiff without out being solid like the Power flex ones are.
To avoid miss matching you must fit a pair to the LCA rear points then this should cause no problem

Have you had the geometry checked since owning car,how are the tyres youve got on wearing. Is it the front that slides or is the rear end sliding out?
