Right my horn died the other day again (wife says not to worry too much  ).

Anyway.... is it possible to upgrade the 1 tone horn that I have to a 2 tone one as I felt embarrased to use it as it was!

Funny thing is it started working again yesterday, but will probably die again soon :(

Not happy as this will be my 3rd new horn ! :(

I'm on my 3rd as well seems the horns dont like water ingress at all. Which considering ithey are mounted on the nearside of the car right at the bottom of bumper is quite stupid. Especially when in UK it rains a lot. Once mines out of warranty I will replace it with a OEM or the PIAA one that I have found on the web. Water Proff and much louder :)

Have you got more info on these horns, because I'm sick of them dying.

This has to be a design fault as I never had this problem with my old Golf GTI!

The Ring ones Halfords sell are good. I paid £9.99 for mine and it's never died, and it doesn't sound stupid.

I had the horn replaced once under warranty and then it went again just after
the warranty expired. I wish I'd picked up one for a tenner: Sidlow Seat charged
me seventy quid for a replacement!

Thanks for the info.

So would it be a straight swap from my current one tone to a two tone one then?

Then again maybe air horns are the way to go for those idiots who can't stay in their lane round the roundabouts in MK

It's easy peasy.

You have to remove the old horn, cut the wiring and put 2 female spade connectors on the end. After that you simply replace the old horn and plug the wires in.

I replaced my single horn for dual PIAA ones, bought from Demon Tweeks for £16. Easy to wire up and sound great.

That is the way I an going to go! Mine (the forth for the 2 Leons I have had in the last 3 years) went as I was sounding it when a massive lorry tried to carve in to my lane whilst I was along side :scary:

SEAT should issue a re-call to get it sorted with a different type of horn.

I had to laugh when I was having my car serviced on Saturday morning, to kill time I went into TMC Motoring & Leisure in MK to see if they had any of these horns.

I asked the guy did he have any horns? so he took me over to a shelf and said "what about these"?

I looked down and saw, yep you guessed it 'musical air horns' !!!

And they were so big I doubt I would have found space to install them under the bonnet !
