I'm 22 and pay £1400 a year insurance, 15k miles 2 years no claims and that's on a 184! Started on my mums fiesta policy(direct line wouldn't give me no claims) when I was 17-19 then got my own Corsa black edition(1.4 turbo) which cost about the same as I pay now in terms of insurance but that was with 0-1 years no claims. Ah money. Never claimed either or had any kind of fine, squeaky clean in the eyes of insurers.

Ordered a 300 manual, in Desire Red, Sunroof, keyless entry, wireless charging and winter pack (g/for gets a cold bum). First Seat, 52, currently driving I Focus St 2013, counting the days. Insurance quote £271, the joys of 'maturity'!

Nice choice! I was surprised at my £300 insurance policy (2nd driver also) I'm just at the wrong end of 40. At least age has it's benefits!

Hopefully you enjoy the car, let us know how it compares to the focus.

I will, I'm hoping that with the choice of modes that I can relax some of the time. I find with the Focus that it's not so good slow!

You will, when the Cupra is in comfort mode it's a very relaxing drive. I actually find the ride a bit softer then my previous FR. Just be careful of potholes as they really make a bang!

I've always been a firm believer that a car can only comfortable OR sporty however I am constantly surprised by how well the Cupra can achieve both. The wonders of adaptive dampers, in addition to the other tech, really is astonishing.

Completely agree. I had said to myself no more sporty dailies a few years ago. I was leaving my Z4 3.0 at home more and more to use the more comfortable Ibiza 1.4 that we had at the time and had a couple of bland cars once the Z4 went. The adjustable suspension, 5 door format and general discrete nature of the Cupra put a performance daily back in to contention.

Glad it did and I think the Cupra strikes a good balance, just enough reminders that you're not in the base model, with little to get on your nerves on a 100 mile motorway slog.

Oh, and regarding the OP. Now 37, was 36 at time of purchase.
