Hi All,

Driving home last night, i noticed that I don't see a bright red light behind me when i stop.... dammit.

Checked vag-com, and there is the "Implausible signal" for the brake light switch. I've had a look to see if I can do anything, but can't see anything, nor do I know how to fix it.

I'll ring the garage when they open, to see if I can order a new brake switch ASAP, but I don't know if they'll be available to fit it or not.

I can't go to work until this is sorted, as I am NOT risking driving my car up the M3 with no brake-lights, as i'll have a bmw in my boot before I even leave my street.

So does anyone have any simple instructions for how to change the switch for the brakes?

Please?
Thanks!

I've found many threads with the same problem, but nobody with a descriptive guide for how to do this.

Lower dash needs to come off??? I can't reach any switches at the top of the brake pedal, I can just about get my hand up to the plunger in the rubber grommet, but I can't get further up than that.

Once again, a big Thank-you to JKM :) - All sorted this afternoon, new switch installed and one road-legal and safe car!
