Quick update as to where I am with my delivery time.
Dropped in the Seat garage yesterday, spoke with the sales manager and my car is now on build week 3 :-o When i ordered the car in the first week of October i was given a delivery date of around 6 weeks or less. Anyway their system shuts down for a week soon to be updated with a new one, at which point their expecting to be able to give far more accurate delivery times as at the moment cars move build weeks on a weekly bases. I'm told my car should hopefully move back into a build week for this year. Soooooo jealous of the people who've already received their cars, bring on my delivery!

I'm in the same boat as you, Spoke to my dealer on Friday and have been told my car is being built in week 2 for a week 9 delivery. this has gone back from delivery on the 30th Nov, i ordered my car the last week of september.

i hope what they say about them being brought forward is correct as i wasn't impressed, :thumbd: Not good seat!!!

I placed an order for our Ecomotive on August 31st (I think, or 30th), paid the £500 deposit...and was told end of October... When I called to find out about OCtober I was told it was 12 weeks from when the order was placed, which makes it the end of November. The wife rang yesterday and it now seems BUILD week is 49, and we should expect the car in mid January! I need to speak to the dealers today, but to say I am not happy is an understatement!

Not neccesarily the dealers fault, but thats not the point, SEAT are at fault and the dealership is my link with them. I can call SEAT UK, but is that the best step to take?

Similar story to molehill -
I ordered a ibiza sport tdi last week of august, told its not being built until next week then its 4-6 weeks for delivery. The rate its going I might get a month before the new plates come out. I think its ridiculous that nobody had a clue about the delays and that its still takes so long to get it. i could drive it back in less than 2 days. Not impressed at all. [:@]

I hope the service I receive from seat over the next few years is a bit better than the service i've had so far.

ah man, thats terrible! i sympathise with you, i waited since august and i got mine today, and that was long enough, I got soo angry with the dealership, they kept up making excuses, like their computer systems went down for a week. it was all pretty poor, BUT it was nice to get it eventually in the end. waited a lacklustre 14 weeks.
but i really feel for you guys, thats just aweful! make sure they chuck in a whole load of free stuff for your troubles!

they were updating the computers to make ordering easier, so that was a genuine reason, not sure how that effects builds mind you

Seat do a 7 day free insurance which i took advantage of when my car finally arrived on tueday(10 weeks wait but it was a new build). My own insures could not send out my certicate in time to take delivery yesterday.

Got Lucky

My dealer had the 1.4 sport in Luna Grey sitting in the showroom!! Only issue is the 16" alloys, not 17 but I can live with that.

Must say that is a little crazy. I can believe there is a shortage of the 1.4 ECO engines due tot he whole enviro friendly drive of late, but thast one hell of a delay?? Keep us posted!!

I do believe the latest estimate I have been given, as has been said this new coimputer system means the dealers can track the cars every step of the way now (I believe). Of course I also believe this means there really is no excuse for missing the delivery dates SEAT have now set (bar unforeseen MAJOR circumstances).

Guys I work for a SEAT dealership and a lot of what i'm reading your being told is rubbish.

I work as sales for a dealership called EW pinchbecks in Middle wallop near Andover.

We have had a new system brought in and it is a lot more accurate, there is another update coming next year which will give us even more accuracy and more real time info.

I'm ordering cars now that aren't going into a build week any later than week 4, there is also a fair bit of stock out there.

Yes there's not loads and loads but its not that bad, especially with everything going mandatory on wed it'll be a lot easier getting stock.
