I ordered my 1.6CR TDI with lots of extras on october 3rd and an eta was put down as the 1st of december. Then I was told about the new system which would delay it by 2 weeks so I was expecting to pick it up fairly soon. Now they have told me that because I enquired about the pack that has the XDS in ESP with Hill Hold, EBA, XDS and Tyre Pressure Monitoring it has delayed the car till 21st January!

I was already having the ESP with Hill Hold, EBA and Tyre Pressure Monitoring pack on my car and enquired about the new pack that appeared on the spec site of seat which had XDS in for an extra £7, now I have another 7 week delay on top of my already 10 week wait :(

I always tell customers 12-14 weeks for a factory order unless its a special model or we already have the car they want on order and its a little way down its production week.

Otherwise you have an unhappy customer with expectations you just can't fulfil.

The flipside of this is customers often go with another dealer that gives a shorter lead time that just isn't doable.

I ordered my Leon emocion 25th Sept and at the mo a build week 51. It hasnt changed so far but wont hold my breath. This means a rough est of late Jan. Id rather have a lengthy delay now and have it registered under the new 10 plate in March being only a month away. Ive ordered it in Crono yellow and wondered if this has an affect on production time? Hopefully!! haha!! As long as it doesnt go into late March im ok as my current vehicle is traded for the new one under the scrappage scheme and will need to be MOTed again late March!

p.s yes I know this is an Ibiza group but couldnt help reading and commenting :)

Your new car will need to be registered before 120 days of ordering, otherwise the dealer will need to cancel your scrappage claim and reapply for your allowance, problem here is your scrappage car will still need to be taxed, MOT'd and insured to still qualify.

Build week 51 should be for mid Jan delivery.

Yes, my concern is the MOT as firstly this will cost me money of known quantity such as the MOT itself but also secondly, the possibility of an unknown such as repair cost to fix failure. Either way it will be eating into my sale of the century scrappage deal saving which I can do without. Not having the new TDI is also costing me around £70 with every month that goes by as my current vehicle is petrol. Never mind. Thats life!

Ok..so Jan could be a poss then! Fingers crossed..cheers

Idealy yes. Im just going by the fact that once the dealership have done their bit and ordered the car in a timely fashion, theres nothing more they can do to influence the progress of build. Its down to VAG and nothing anyone can do so no point in shouting or getting stressed. Thats how I see it anyway?

Thats just not right bud, lead times for special models like the Boca are 14-16 weeks, we ordered a Cupra with Convenience pack, leather and Xenons in Speed blue, ordered start of July, delivered end of sept.

Sorry just checked. It was the second week in October I ordered.
I think they are just anticipating any delays in delivery when they say Feb. There will also be a delay for Christmas I should think.

I've already delivered, 2x FR's, 1x Cupra and 2x Boca's.

It is basically shut down for 2 weeks over xmas, but your lead times are just sounding to long.

Hmm strange. So even with an October order you'd have expected it by Dec/Jan? Not sure whats gone on there.
Ah well gives me time to sell my current motor.
