Ibiza Mk2 Coil Pack Query

Car broke down earlier, first time in six years of having the car that its failed me whilst I've been out. Went in the shop and when I came out to start the car, nothing. Turned over but not firing.

Recovery man had a coil onboard so put that on and it was fine, but I was not allowed to keep it. So once I got home he took it off so now I need to get one.

I can get to GSF on Monday and just want to check part no etc. Car is a 97 AGG 2.0 8v and I can see on the GSF site part no 92525 @ £34.50. Is this correct?

Also, is it likely anything else will go soon like the distributor etc? It had a new cap and rotor arm last year so they should be ok, but also dont think its ever had new leads either.

Thoughts please?

Thanks

Ryan

I'm sure it will have had leads at some point in it's life, but they're always worth changing

Distributor won't wear out, so that's ok.

£34 ouch.. when i went to get my splitter from SEAT i asked how much the HT lead from coil to dizzy is... £17 summat + the VAT! ( the rubber bits torn on mine where it plugs onto Dizzy) .. so i went on ebay and won a coil and all 5 Leads for £3 ( £6 all in) .. i know they are used but they all work so the coil and other 4 leads in boot as spares :)

just been to gsf and got a beru one for £45 + VAT. They do a cheap one at £35 and pricey one at £55 so went for middle of the road as thats the one they sell most of ad beru make them for vag.
if it stops raining i might be able to fit it tonight!

when i was looking for a new ignition coil, Seat wanted £89 + vat and most other places like ECP and GSF wanted around 70quid

you sure you been looking at the right part?

prices must have dropped if so, lucky i didnt bother!

theres 2 types listed - one just a coil that seperates from the igniter pack and one that doesn't - some of the aftermarket catalogues are sketchy
