ibiza mk5 cupra induction

Guys, does anyone know of an induction kit available for the 1.4 tsi from the new ibiza cupra, i was lookin at a gold mk5 170 bhp one from k&n, but not sure on the affect it would have on the engine. what do u think?

Hi, i also wondered about a induction kit for the cupra i have ordered so i emailed K+N. There response was that they havent got one yet but as i am close to there R+D office when it arrives i can pop up and they will see what they can do for me. I will keep you all posted. 7 weeks till car comes

i was thinkin of removin the airbox and using a cone for a similarly powered vw golf (1.4 tsi 170 bhp). What do u think?

Unless you have got a good cold air feed its not going to help much.


I took out all the foam sound deadening from around the super charger today, now I can hear it working, ace!

Incredibly hard to do.

I had to change the coupling that drives the supercharger today, I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Took the foam out whilst I was there.

The Celica i am scrapping for the Cupra has got the terrific BMC CDA,the same size as the one for the Golf 1.4 TFSI(needs just an engine side reducer) and i am gonna keep the box.I am still thinking whether to sell the BMC or install it in the Cupra.

Is the supposedly improved and colder airflow going to bump some horses without ECU chip and is it gonna force the ECU to pump more fuel,worsening the fuel economy:confused:
