Images on the internet are in the public domain. Unless they say on them that they are copyrighted then how can it be illegal?
You don't have to state an image is copyrighted - it just is unless it's signed over to you, or is given as copyright free - Public Domain has nothing to do with it

An image on the internet is not physical. Undid yourself there by askin me to read it. Plus wikipedia can be edited so is not a great reference point

It does exist, but that's the right answer! just ask.....
An images does 'exist' if it's a file (which is must be) so that arguement is nullified.
