Im going to put a back box on my 1.2 ibiza

Hi i was going to put an aftermarket backbox on my 1.2 ibiza how do you fix it?? Also what size it the outlet pipe on to the back box??? cheers

The original backbox is cut off and the new one is offered up having another pipe welded from the aftermarket backbox to the rest of the system from where it has been cut off. If I were you I wouldn't bother much on size of outlet pipe, a reducer if necessary could be fabricated easily and also i'wouldn't worry much about what type of backbox either. On a 1.2 you will not be seeing very big power gains! Mine's a 1.2 also and got a universal back box off ebay... it sounds good and looks good and on acceleration it MIGHT be a little bit more responsive (although it might be imagination).

iv just had a backbox put on my 1.2 at exhausts uk. Looks well smart and sounds good. Defintly some acceleration gain and 'smoothness'.

Defo get it done in my opinion.

no disrespect to you guys that have back box's on 1.2's but i have a 1.2 and ive never sin the real point to having a back box on, in my own opinion it sounds silly cause i hear a 1.2 coming up the road and its roar roar roar but all the car is doing is 30mph, thats my opinion though..

that's true that is, just because its a 1.2 doesn't mean it can't sound nicer, really loud exhausts are to be fair (yes i have done it before lol) but just for the looks alone it's gotta be better than the standard pea shooter

not that i've got a backbox, but if ad lav can puthis 2p worth in then so can i

and my 17's have killed my acceleration dead but i love em so it's the laid back slow cruising look for me
