Exactly what I thought, especially as there is still that grey area regarding their legality. If I'd spent £200 and then be told I had to remove them I'd be really pissed, but £40 I can live with!
So long as they are aligned properly they should pass an MOT fine. Someone posted on here yesterday that his car went through ok with HID's fitted.

Yep, I know, thats what persuaded me to buy them!! But you know what can happen to some people.....

With regards to the import duty, there was two receipts in on the outside of the box stating 'sample bulbs' with a value of £30! Is this the maximum value thats allowed before tax I wonder? But, I paid no duty.

I ordered mine from Dianes shop off ebay about 2 weeks ago, they arrived on thurs and i fitted them today in about an hour and a half.

Incredible difference! Very pleased with them and no problems fitting.

makes the halogen side lights look pathetic in comparison.

Do HID's fix the poor beam distance of non HID bulbs?

When on a non street lit road the area lit up in front of me is not very far to say the least....without using full-beam. This is using 0 on the light angle control knob.

My Focus beam would go much much higher (hence been able to see much further into the distance) using 0 on my angle control knob. I'm getting fed up of using my full-beam and having to turn on/off as other drivers drive towards me.

Mine are just plane dengerous. I couldnt care less what is 1 meter in front of me at 70MPH, I want to see ALOT further than 1-2meters without having to use full beam.

Just been reading about a white cog that adjusts the beam range. Might have a look tommorrow, but don't want to adjust them and end up blinding every poor bugger.

Unless VAG-COM would change it more than the dashboard adjuster??

No - the motor is a fixed amount of adjustment. If you want to alter the lights properly you need to use the two white cogs( the adjustment on the electrical motor is just so you can move up from what should be the correct place in the first place ( unloaded). MOT place will do this for like a tenner, it's not worth guessing - or at least i don't think it is.

There's no way halogen can match HID - those bulbs are an improvement over the stock bulbs though - however when HID is as cheap as it is .. it's too cheap not to change. I got 2 kits delivered for £80 from china in 4 days over the christmas period. If they break after a year ( out side of a normal 'UK' warranty ... i'll just buy another set and still be £50 better off compared to buying a set here. The set i currently have was a UK supplied one and the stuff from China looks exactly the same!

Was thinking about buying some brighter bulbs this week, but for the price of those Diane's HIDs i may as well get some of those. Good find. :)

I've got 6000k bulbs, but have ordered a set of 4300k to replace them as i feel they could be brighter, and the 6400k is appearing more and more on corsa's and the like, and i don't want to be associated with that mob

Where have you ordered your 4300K bulbs from mate?

How would you fit these, do you need to cut and solder the wires or does the bulb pull out?

Also do you have the dianne-shop kit?

Cheers. :D

I bought my kit from a different source outside of ebay 12 months ago, and they cost about £130.
The bulbs are just like any other bulb, a direct replacement for the existing one, so no need to cut or solder. Not received them yet, but should be here any day.
Total cost delivered was £24.98 from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Awax-Tuning
