Hi all,

Just wanted to share my experience, I have a 22 plate Leon and it came with version 1896 when I picked it up.

I set the app up with the car and after about a week or so, I was given an update that was about 1gb (Called OUI2, if you Google this it says it's only for the cupra Leon and formentor, neither of which I have but it offered it). This installed but didn't update the version number and I was still on 1896.

Fast forward a week or two, and I was offered another update yesterday called "MOI3_EU_SE_R9400L" which was about 3gb and has now updated to version 1940.

I know there is another newer version from reading this thread and I may be offered that update at a later date, but my reason for posting is that there seems to be a lot of people that say major version changes (e.g. 18xx to 19xx" can only be done by the dealer and not over the air (OTA). However, this can't be absolute fact, as my situation proves that it is possible to change major versions via OTA updates.

Like everything, I assume theres a lot of circumstances where updates may not be possible (like I don't think upgrading from say 16xx or 17xx would be possible OTA) but I just wanted to let anyone know in my situation on an 18xx version, get your app set up and be patient and there's a good chance your car will push you a new version! It certainly has for me.

Cheers.

What do you mean by "get you app set up" ? Which application are you talking about? I'm on 18xx on my used Seat Leon bought in September and I haven’t received any OTA update offers. Only the €120 offer to do it at the workshop!!

I was referring to the "My SEAT" app. I have no way of knowing if having your car registered on the app makes any difference when it comes to getting the update - but I have mine set up on the app and I got the update. If others wanted to copy my exact circumstances/setup, then I think it's worth setting up the app as well in case this makes a difference.

Surprising: I have MySEAT, my car is registered, but no OTA! Is the car on Wi-Fi or mobile data? I have no bugs with my current version so I don't want to pay for the update, but I could have gotten it for free... Is there a special configuration to set up?

I had it on the built-in mobile data (I don't have the additional plan you can pay extra for, it has expired, but it seems that the mobile data built into the car still works for updates - for me anyway). I didn't do anything special, I got the car a few months ago, set up the My SEAT app, a few weeks later it offered the first update, and two days ago it offered the second update to 1940.

Perhaps you're on an earlier version to 1896 and it may not be possible to OTA to version 1940 unless you're currently on 1896 exactly :(

Hello, I'm looking for the file that allows the upgrade from 1804 to 1969. I managed to download 1969, but not the previous one. The link I found on the forum redirects me to Mega, which doesn't let me download the full file — it's too large! Could someone send it to me?

Really? It still says that we must go through 1896 before 1969! So you're confirming that I can input my key with 1969 directly without any issues later on?
I'm not confirming anything. I'm sharing my experience. Everyone updates at their own risk.
