ok cool i ordered the same thing last week from a guy in estonia,

should be good. Gonna get some more for vw and audi if it works ok.

crap just realised i paid 10 quid and only get seat :( wish i bought the one you did....

These things are good (I've got one), but a real bugger to navigate, I think its best to buy a Haynes manual - probably for a Polo 9N and just use ElsaWin when you are in a tight spot - as Haynes is more directed towards us DIYers so suggests some "work arounds" where the ElsaWin will just issue you with a set of required VAG tooling.

How easy is it to remove the wishbone?

Will my suspension need adjusting for tracking & camper after doing the job?

I'm collecting my bushes today. Just want to check that there isn't anything which i might be missing out on (any info)?

Was looking through a Polo Haynes manual and the chassis looks the same (same year model) but the torque settings mentioned were different.

How easy is it to remove the wishbone? - Quite easy to remove - putting it back in is a PITA - you need to force it in to the bush. use grease for lube.

Will my suspension need adjusting for tracking & camper after doing the job?- YES tracking MUST be done.

the bushes can be replaced with the consoles still on the car but you need to obtain/make some kind of puller / pusher.

When the bushes are being installed - make sure that one of the flats of the hexagon is at the top. ( will line up with the flat on the wishbone when it is horizontal )

i will be cutting my left bollock off before i do them bushes with the console on again.

haha

Gonna order the parts today, not had chance in the snow

After a failing reply from my local stealers (motorvogue, northampton) for torque settings.

I found this Seat technical online document:

https://erwin.seat.com/erwin/showHome.do;jsessionid=9415D66FD763F9B8EC7CC32FC78D1289.ASTPVWE1

Unfortunately it isn't free, but I did print screen the documents & it has given me all the technical information that I need!

So a few beers for my work collegue & some axle stands & a torque wrench, it should be happy days :)

Might do them this weekend if the weather stays ok.

Hi folks,

I Changed the rear bush on the front wishbone last year summer, although it was little unneccessary, as the noise coming from the front was due to a cracked spring. Anyway, the worst bit was getting the old bush out which took hours in cutting and whacking it out. i got the press tool discs made up from a member on here for £15. i initially didn't line up the bush hexagon with the one on the spigot, mainly due to exhaustion, fustration and heat of the day. Luckily i had a eureka moment to get the new bush out to align properly. I bought a cylindrical hole cutting attachments for drills used to make holes in walls. The size used, i think 75mm, was just big enough to hold the bush inside and small enough to hold against the surface of the console at the front. So threading a bolt through the hole cutter positioned at the front of console and using the smaller pressing plate at the back of the console, i wound the bush back out.
If i had this idea to begin with it would have made the first half of the this job much easier.

To be honest, i never done the other side as i kept making excuses, being a family vehicle and so on, but i do intend to doit when the weathers warmer as i don't have a garage or if someone around London wants to borrow my tools in exchange for garage space one weekend we could come to some arrangement!!;)

Trick is to get the console really clean before pushing the bushes in. They they go in no problems.

For reference Unit18 (not far from Santa Pod) do the whole lot, Cupra bushes, Powerflex wishbone and Powerflex ARB bushes for £250 inc a tracking check. www.unit18.co.uk Takes about 2 hours.
