It's the little victories that make it all worthwhile....

I've been doubting the point in keeping my LCR recently, as all I seem to do is potter along in traffic to and from work or the city centre these days, so having a car like the LCR seems a bit overkill. I could just as easily - and quickly - do the same in a TDi Lupo or something!

But then today, in a few moments of madness, everything suddenly seemed worthwhile. I always wanted a Focus ST, it was the car of choice before buying the LCR but the price, as they were still new at the time, put me off. I ended up with the LCR and have never regretted it.
Well today, I'm pottering along the motorway and Mr.ST pulls out in front of me and glues himself to the arse of the car infront. Cue a bit of headlight flashing, undertaking and manic driving on his part and he is a good distance ahead of me as we both take the same exit off the motorway.

Well who should I pull up behind at the traffic lights just off the motorway... Mr.ST, gleaming in his Imperial Blue smugness. Lights turn green, we both head on to the same dual carriageway, and I think, Meh, what the heck.... foot down, speed picks up and it suddenly all becomes clear why I bought the LCR and why I love it so much. Mr.ST was not happy that this bright yellow thing was now stuck to him and he couldn't shake it. I even had to back off a couple of times.

We came to a roundabout, I pulled in behind some traffic and he went on to try and prove his **** was bigger than mine by cutting up some poor driver on the roundabout.

It's a little victory, and a juvenile one at that, but it made me remember why I love this car so much :)

Speed kills kids.... ;)

I had a trip to Basildon last week and came across a Blue ST with full stripes. I dont think he was impressed when a dirty derv pulled a good 10 lengths on him!

Meaty goodness.

Female ST driver undertook me the other day, gave me the "you're goin' down!" look and zipped off into the distance.

Me, meanwhile gave this tasty-looking thing a polite nod and let her go (hardly voluntarily anyway, slight power-difference).

I watched with glee as she whacked her brakes on as the mobile camera van on the bridge in the distance snapped away ;)

Those ones are always the best :D

When I had the Celica, a mate and me were driving back from town one afternoon and there was a load of long-term roadworks going on. So long in fact, that they had actually reduced the speed camera on the road from the normal 50 to 30, the speed enforced during the works.

Well we had this Porsche driver glued to my backside, desperate to get past, but I was doing a strict 30 all the way. And even if I wanted to go faster, I couldn't as the car in front of me was doing 30 too.

The car in front then moved, so I slowed down a little, just for affect ;) before pulling over and letting the Porsche fly past.... right through the speed camera :D

*flash* *flash*

We then drive past a very upset looking, slightly embarrassed Porsche driver while waving and blowing kisses at him :D

I thought about the need for an LCR for several months before buying one. My trip to work and back is a long cue of traffic, making any overtaking or arsing about a no no.

But then when you have the odd need for speed you realise how right you were in buying one! Had this BMW 3.0 diesel being eratic, so I naturally thought this could be a hit. You know the ones, only a few car lenghs in traffic but still they insist on slowing down to 6 or 7 car lenghts then putting foot down, then breaking hard again.

There was a little break in traffic so I overtook the BMW along the petworth road (good road if anyone knows it to cruise on). We were then weaving in and out of the traffic and the BMW just had no answer - really did not have 50-80 power to trouble me or get past me at all.

Oh how i loved it:funk:

So true! Quite a bit of my journey each day can be in flowing traffic, with not much chance of doing anything about it. But a clear bit of road then just puts a big grin on your face and the power is always at hand if you want it to be.

Gotta love the LCR's acceleration, always come in handy when up against the boy racers in their supped up chav mobiles !!! even my wife was impressed when driving it the other week.... when Mr Flash tried to race her and she left him behind.

I'm confused, you say raced a Focus ST then at the end say 'Roll on license back'.

Does that mean you were driving with no license?

Cooper is would be quite a bit faster than a 110 leon as its 200kg's less, more bhp and has similar amount of torque...
