I can build a 1000bhp motor...

(do you believe me? :p )

Well Jabba are a well respected tuning company who seem to know what they are doing. I have no reason not to believe them. How would they benefit from making false claims?

Ok I doubt they've ever done it, but I'd imagine they know what to do if someone (With loadsamoney) wanted it. Yes in the end they may find that they only end up getting 600bhp instead of the 650bhp they estimated.

Any news Ben, are you still in on Monday?.

Good news and bad news.

Bad news is that no its not Monday anymore. :(

Good news is that the new date (Saturday 16th) is 100% definate (Touch wood).

I always had a feeling that the Sept 27th date would slip, but I have a good feeling about the 16th Oct.

The day will come, eventually.

Not seen anyone build a motor that does this Ben (in the UK)

Fairly arbitrary of course.. 650bhp!! I mean... :roflmao:

Opppp's so angry at the moment . I have had enough. If Jabba dont give me a date in November, and dont have it fitted by the end of that month, they can stick it right up there arse. This has gone past being a joke now!!!!!!!!!.

Cheers Wilko. I will speak to Jbs, speak to Jabba. Get a kit from Jabba book it in with Jbs and have some fun. I hope. Unless jabba cancel Ben and put me before him. I may even source the turbo and Injectors myself, to save a few quid. Where did u get the turbo from?.

You can get the turbo from the us for about $650. The compresser housing needs turning, but thats all.
I payed double that for mine from jabba, but I was in a hurry.
Buy the manifold, source a turbo from the US (ihivf34 with p18) and have the other bits sorted by JBS.

nice figs, read the ukmiv jbs day john, not many results posted though, one thing strikes me though tramsmission losses seem low, what type of dyno is it? i know it's new lol :)

gary says over on the thread that jbs have an gt28 rs mounted on an engine, would that interest you?
know anything else about that john?

can make out bill and dan(deejay) on a pic too rest was cut off

vern

ihi or garrett then gary?
get booked in got a feeling JBS are gonna become v busy ;)

you coming to the rr day @ jbs on 24 th oct mate?might be good to have a chat with the peeps etc, mind knowing you prob want it done for then lol

vern

I dont know Vern, i more will pop down to the RR day at Jbs to see whats going on. I have had 15 months of waiting and i just fed up with it. I will make some calls this week and see what i can get sorted. I am sick of the local Scoob W@nkers trying it on. They need putting back in there place. I might just do what wilko did and buy the full kit and just get it over and done with. I just dont feel confident with Jabba's claim of Mid November. If they gave me a concrete date i would just sit back relax and wait for that day. Its not knowing and date's constantly being changed. When u mention IHI to custardcupra he almost breaks down laughing. Maybe i should just stop looking for info and just sit back and wait for the phone call and if it never comes i have saved myself £4000-£4500. I will make calls tomorrow.

Thats the thing mate, they have put bens back,is this concrete (date)who knows,i know that if iwere you get on the blower and get some action mate,or the car will be too old to enjoy the mods if you know what i mean :) keep us posted on what the phone calls bring

Will do. Its all about if jabba have a complete kit yet (tip) and when Jbs could do the work. I would even settle for the 290-300bhp kit at the moment. Myself and CC have said the 1st thing were going to do is pop along to the local Evo and Scoob meet just to do some culling. I need to get a grip i am getting obsessed with it all. I remember after chipping the car i drove it and came off the gas as it was scary how fast it was going forward. Now i take a 10min kip between gears. You just get used to it. I just get frustrated as i aint good at waiting, but on the same token when someone asks me to do summit i do it straight away it must be in my nature just to want to get on with things.

bill dan and mike were all there.
As I've tried to explain on many ocassions, trans losses are measured inertia losses.
The rr has a known inertia, and it calculates how fast the inertia is accelerated, and thus calculates power. The inertia of the drive train is calculated on the run down, and added to the rr inertia to give a fly wheel figure.

If the RR has high inertia then the inertia of the drivetrain is less significant, and therefore lower 'measured' transmission(inertial) losses.

If your drivetrain actualy lost 40hp (30kW) it would mostly be converted to heat. Your boiler in your house is <30kW at full pelt. Put the heater from your boiler under your gearbox, and see how long it takes before your gearbox melts.

Drive train losses are 5% at most. If they were more then there'd be a lot of engineers on the dole.

Ultimately JBS rr shows standard power on standard cars, so it can't be far off.

cheers john

good description there, good to hear jbs's rollers are accurate as i said not too many figs up yet..
Oh i understand heat and heat losses as thats my job(but if it were a combi boiler under my gearbox,it would be stone cold as they break down more than they work :bleh: )yeah as said 24-30 kw most sized domestic boiler thats hot.
