Hey mate

I had this problem too. There was loads of muck around where it refitted so i cleaned that off 1st. The the kack is to push on the shirt and wack the thing hard till it clicks in.

The reason it ain't clicking on for you is because the plastic side skirt is flexing when you're trying to push the cover on.

You'll get there ;)

I was driving to work yesterday morning and I hear a weird banging noise coming from my drivers door. I was on the A27 at the time doing about 80 mph and it fully freaked me out! I had to drive about 1 mile before there was a safe place to pull off and check it out. I open my door to find the front drivers side jack point cover had detached itself and had been bouncing off the road. :censored:

I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the f*cker back on to no avail, so eventually I decided to remove it from the plastic retainer thingie and came on here for advice when I got to work.

The way I did it was the screw driver method. I used a large flat-head screw driver to prise the skirt away from the sill and then poked the screw driver inside the skirt, so back towards the outside of the car, to form a solid-ish base to push against. The cover went on a piece of piss after that!

It's weird as I've never had the covers off and it hasn't had any work done on the car for a good month, so I'm confused as to why it suddently came off.

I'm pissed off though as it's now rather scratched around the edges after being dragged along the road at high speed. [:@]

Have some pics....

easy to do tbh...

clip the top in first... then put your hand under the bottom and take a breath.. and i mean a big one and wack the thing hard with the palm of your hand.. easy peasy.. works every time for me guys.

push down on top of the skirt and push up with cover works all the time ;)

This works! I tried all the other ways which don't work.

Simply clip the lugs in at the back of the skirt underneath the car then bring the cover up towards the door and when it meets the skirt, push down a little on the skirt and push up on the cover. Job done!

Already posted but nobody seemed to listen or try ;)

Loosen the side-skirt only a couple of screws on arch and under skirt, just upto cover then fit cover and screw side-skirt back on.

Very easy and wont end up hurting hand or getting really mad.

SIXARM:- My cover looks exactly like yours, heard a banging noise and it came loose, couldn't put cover back on so just snapped it off and put it on at a later date, had to touch up the corner scratches though.

I had to take 2 screws out of the side skirt to allow a bit of flex to get the clips to "click" into place, easy once you've done it! They are a rubbish design tho!
