Hmmm. I think there is 2 different sumps with sensors, did BAM get listed on vagcat for that part number?
Well sump is off!! Actually A LOT easier than I thought it was going to be, a long wobble bar, a 10mm socket and ratchet is all I needed to take it off, will probably need a 5mm ball ended Allen key in order to reinsert the bolts straight.
Seems a shame to throw away such a clean sump!

So the ECS sump plug caused the sump hole to break free? Is this a common thing for the ECS plug?
Not wanting to slate the ECS plug but it appears to have caused the issue with mine and has been leaking from there as well.
I've taken the plunge! Ordered myself a baffled sump and OEM sealant from AKS tuning. Should be here tomorrow.
Really toying with the idea of making this a track toy as well as a fast road car so a baffled sump seemed like the right thing to do.
I don't think it's likely to see the track this year, want to get myself a lighter set of alloys and some semi slick tyres on them before I think about putting it on the track, also want to get a decent oil cooler and Apexi AVC-R on there as well as some 2 piece discs before putting it through its paces on the track.
These are all things to do over the winter I think so it can be ready for some track action next year.

New sump turned up yesterday!
Took a couple of hours to get it all on properly and filled with oil etc. Pleased to say no visible leaks but will be keeping an eye on it for a week or two.

Why am I such a penis! Was doing some general maintenance work on the car at the weekend topping up fluids etc. Came to topping the gearbox oil and me being a lazy decided to just lift the top of the gearbox selector fork and fill from there to put an extra .5-1.0L in as the top gears can sometimes get starved of oil and managed to pull the whole gear selector fork right out the top of the box!!!! This means, (unless I am mistaken) I've got to take the whole box off the car, strip it all down (AGAIN!!!!) and rebuild it with the selector fork in the right place.
I have tried reinserting the gear selector back in the top of the gearbox but don't want to force it into the wrong place and do damage to the gears etc!
*sigh* I know what I'm doing this weekend.
