no if everybody retraces then they will see that i only left it unplugged because the socket for it was connected to the airbox which needs to be taken out! so i assumed that it was not needed to be connected to the induction kit as there was no socket on the filter. any way how can i find out whats wrong with my car? will i have to wait for my vagcom to arrive?

Just take the induction kit off and put it back how you found it. Seems the best option i think. Is this a load up?? please tell us it is cupra rich, and we can stop this!!

my car has a error and it aint a joke so all i am doing is asking for help and advice on what i can do like some poeple are doing, if you think what ive done is funny or stupid then great but everybody makes mistakes and occasionally lacks in common sense! if you want to help me then please reply on this thread if not then dont.
cheers

Apologies my friend thought it was a load up no ones perfect. The only thing i can say to you is get vag com on it it that will tell you whats wrong. But seriously put the original airbox back on it will sort the maf problem out.

but why would putting the standard air box fix it?? if the maf is plugged in then surely the box or induction kit wouldnt make a difference!

Most dont take the maf off when fitting an induction kit, look at pictures of other peoples engine bays on here. the maf needs to be plugged in and not hanging. What brand is your induction kit?

so will the vagcom tell me what is wrong and can i get rid of the light using vacom?? but if it just comes up with a load of codes then how do i know whats wrong, guessing use the search button on here!

Vag Com will tell you whats causing the fault and a code, if you clear the codes most of the time the light will go out, i have had my ESP light on for about 10 months but cant clear the code and switch the light out, but at least you will know what the problem is, mine being electrical fault which is a problem as i don't know where the fault is. If you can get it on vagcom it will def help.

ok well like i say, hopefully it will be here tomorrow!!! can i get it to turn the traction control back on tho as someone said that if that light is on due to other faults then the TC will be off

my advice to you mate is take ur car to a garage so people can look at ur car that know what they are doing, because by the sound of it you dont have a clue..... mean that in a nice way.

It's just to test the original setup...if something doesn't work after a change, then put it back to standard & see if the problem is still there.

Re VAGCOM, it will interpret the error lights into something more understandable, and then your can either post on here, or be able to tell what the problem is, and then fix it.

With regard to the people extracting the urine in the thread...just ignore them, would appear they have nothing better to do.
We all have issues when we get a new car...at the risk of getting flamed also, I forgot to plug my N75 back in after fitting my new DV, and was running on stock boost for about 2 wks.
Wasn't until I fitted a boost gauge that I realised, and then spent 3-4 days on here trying to find out why...got a mate to check for me, and he just said "isn't that mean to be plugged into something"...reality struck, and away I went. Can look back now, and laugh...as will you.

whats a n75 and ive bought a forge splitr dv but aint got a clue where the stock dv is, is it at the back under that engine cover??
cheers

N75 is esssentially the boost controller, but nothing you need worry about unless is breaks (very unlikely)

Stock DV is just under the back right corner of the engine cover. I've read that the Split-R is a bit tricky to setup, think its just a case of try it, and adjust it until it's right. Never fitted one, so not really sure, but have a search around on here as there are a few threads about setup.
