not sure about the mk3 mate....getting roughly 55mpg to a full tank....or about 500 miles to a tank...about 43litres of Derv...

if i really push it and drive like a granny i usually get about 60mpg to a full tank...and well over 500 miles to a tank full

my jouney to work is about 20 miles and i get on average between 53-61 mpg, depending on traffic etc... for that run

love ur car mate, really cant express how much i want an FR tdi, especially after todays antics, i have problems and its gonna cost me ££££ thinking of selling up, ideally dont wanna sell it as it stands as i would have likeed the bumprs for the next mk4 BUT it will sell for more modded which means i could maybe get a pre-facelift FR and start from scratch again, i.e. buy the bumpers alloys etc etc.....would take along time tho with my holidays booked too. my bro had a 52 plate mk4 golf and due to the fact it was modified (r32 kit etc...) someone paid over £4000 for it, if i could get someone who just passed there test and wanted a minted looking car then i know its a long shot but try get £4500 and that will get me a pre-facelift FR i think. i cant decided what to do, will fix it first obviously. I love the look of it soo much and dont know if i would be happy with a standard car that i cant affors to kit out but i cant be doing with the low powered engine and the probems im facing, i thnk its time has been served with me, siting at 33300 miles, not bad for a 2002, what u think? sorry for ma wee essay haha

cheers scott...keep your chin up mate, you car looks ace and you have done so much too it, always pushing the boundaries on it etc...how much will it cost to fix? what the actual problem with it?

I would def try and sell it modified, think there is loads of scope for a 1.2 modded car, especially one that looks good and not tacky...loads of people who have just passsed there test would jump at the chance to own it. Could always do a feeler thread for it?

If you sold it unmodified could you easily swap the bumpers over? Would you leave on eveything else?

went to scrappies today and got fuel injectors and coolent temp sensor, try that too see if it helps fuel, as for wishbone got tht and the joint and things needed today so might not be as costly as first thougt, hopefullly this will sort it out....as for selling, will see how repairs go first, ideally would wan to keep all mods for next beeza but depends on money, cant afford to change car ad keep all mods this year so would prefer to get the 1.2 running good and keep it till i can afford a swap. bit happier today as i feel were getting somewhere now, where as last night i thought i might need new cv joints etc etc......:D

That's good then not too much money you fitting it yourself?
Yes the rear is so high mine. is only down 35mm at the mo but at the end of the month I change insurance and can lower it more if I want. Not sure how low though with the state of the roads, the council patched up the pot holes for the third time this winter only lasts about 2 weeks last 2 times.
