I am no expert either but over past year I learnt alot from others and looking into each thing a bit before buying. I have used Megs smooth surface clay kit as it is a mild clay, it comes with quick detailer as you have to spray lots on as lube as if you don't it marrs the paint, basically use alot and push/smooth the clay over each section of paint work after you have washed it obviously. I tend to smooth mmy hand across it first and you can feel the stuff that wash mitt will never remove. Then clay instantly wipe with microfibre towel then feel the smoothness. You can buy more aggressive ones but you risk marring the paintwork more and you would prob only ever use it once a year think people who detail for a living buy it to use of cars that are never cleaned!lol
Obviously after this you then polish and wax otherwise your hard work is wasted. Products to use doesn't matter really, I like Chemical Guys stuff and have tried Dodo Juice carnuba wax which is expensive but last for ages but you have to make sure you apply it correctly so it works. I want to get snow foam lance for winter time now to make cleaning easier and less chance of swirl marks.
Ha ha slot of people think I am mad but it is worth it and takes next to no time to clean after doing all this at the beginning of the summer. I need to learn to make this last longer thou as it can be done.
