Update:

just thought i'd update people and let them know that despite my disapointment with the 5 hour Revo trial i decided to try the full software to see if it really was much better than the trial.

Neil F from Drivers in glasgow very kindly offered to run a few vag com logs to see if there where any underlying issues with the car and loaded up stage 1 for me.

that was last wednesday and i've been nightshift since and the weather has been rotten but i've had several decent runs and i have to say it is a million miles different from the trial! Much more in your face and immediately noticable. It's like a totally different car. I'm very pleased.

There were some apparently low airflow readings so there may be scope for improvement (139 g/s stock and 156 g/s with revo on)

I'm defo going to stick with it (drivers offered to remove it if i wasn't impressed). NO NEED!!! I don't think i could go back to stock! and therein lies my next problem: i'm going to want more power when i get used to stage 1!

So cheers to all of you who helped convince me to go for it.

I have to say again though, the difference between the trial and the real deal is massive. Pity they can't give a full version trial.

I've got my powerflex db bushes on order and i'm gonna chuck on a short shift too so i can enjoy the extra power that bit more.

the vegas fund has been well and truly dipped!

Glad you are happy with revo stage 1 fella, your car would of adapted to revo now so all should be well. The g/s reading do appear to be a little on the low side, I think you will have the K03s turbo like myself so you should get better g/s then that, I had 183 g/s with revo stage 1 but that was with a fairly new maf sensor.

Did the revo dealer set you up for a certain fuel? if not might be worth doing this if you can keep to the same fuel as this will make your car run better.

Maybe your maf sensor could do with a clean, pabs website http://www.leoncupra.co.uk has a cleaning guide for you to have a look at

I've currently got a revo trail on my LCR and all i can say is WTF!

Its fooking crazy,
However, i really dont like it when the power dies the futher up the revs you go, i would have liked it to be progressive

As you read above the trial is not the full monty but power delivery wise it's Horses for courses, I always loved the Revo delivery, why not get an APr trial see if that suits you better

Re power delivery, that's one of the reasons we've got an adjustable system. Full code can be set up both aggressive and progressive, just depends on what you want. Don't judge full code by trial code, it's only a taster of what 'performance software' can offer. This is why we built trial code, to expand the market... not as a direct comparison to other products or even full software!

This where my problems lie i would like it be be more progressive is there anyway i can change this or i am stuck with it the way it is

yes but this refers to stage 2/3 surely? and with that comes all the other mods needed and the extra £££ involved

I've got loads of SPS3's lying out Brendy!

Beowulf, you want to drop the boost levels and up the timing... or just drop the boost a little. Problem lies in the hardware restrictions, we tend to give the facility to run more aggressive midrange than anyone else. Peak figures on RR's don't tell the whole story, you can run slightly less boost and have more progressive power delivery. This might also allow you to run more timing due to the drop in EGTs from lower prolonged pressure/heat from the turbo!

kev id love to buy one, I have the intention of eventually getting (as my turbo died unexpectedly and I want to turn the boost and timing down a touch) one but this past month or two has mostly gone on building this....
