I try and see how much i can get in my tank when filling up the LCR with Shell Vpower.
ive noticed on the trip computer i normally get around 320-360.
i filled up the other day and went up the motorway looked at the trip comp and it said 440 and went up to 460 i was well shocked. half a tank left and still got 200+ miles in the tank with haveing already done 200 :D

that half tank will go twice as quickly ;)

The needle is not exactly accurate

talk about kicking someone in the balls lol

i have noticed tho on the motorway the car is a lot better than around town i get some much more out of a tank on the motorway. i just never seen that many miles in the tank i was shocked. lol.

The small line before half a tanks is exactly half the tank volume on mine (having brimmed the tanks from this point i know)

Your lucky, mine is not that much better on the motorway. Best i ever saw was 400 miles to a tank and that was properly empty. Just got 340 around town though!

half way is about 2/5ths of a tank.

There is 4 sections to the gauge, but in reality there are 5 as the gauge wont go down at all for 80+miles.

Also if the trip computer is predicting for example anohter 200 miles its bases on very recent driving. - so if you checked it while cruising on the motorway its going to be optimistic as not all your driving will be like this.

I got .68L per 10KM average on grannydriving in traffic between Oslo and Kristiansand once.

If you were doing motorway driving then you MPG will be higher than town driving and the "how much is left to go" is measured on your average MPG. SO you fill up you have a full tank and over the last tank you averaged 28mpg (for example). You fill up and it states you have 300miles. You drive 30 miles up the motorway doing 38mpg and it recalculates that at 38mpg and the fuel you have left will get you 400miles (for example).

I have a tdi150 quite often it will say 450 on a full tank, but fill up and travel along at a nice steady good for the environment pace and it'll shoot up to around 600 if i average 50mpg. This is how i understand it to work but i wait in anticipation for someone to tell me im wrong:lol:

I agree!

I got 380 on my last tank in my LC, that included 250 of motorway driving.....reckon I could of pushed 400 out of it but I don't like to run it that low incase there is any crap in the bottom of the fuel tank.

I get 240 per tank around the town,(City car) but faulty Lambda I think.I dont drive like an old lady which neva helps

Constant 70-80mph on the bahn and i get 450 max i dont dare push it past the last line before the red.
Had bad experience looking for next service station!

iv had plenty of close calls...always take the piss when the light comes on,the readout says 0miles yet i still manage to travel 20 odd miles like that...

every time i fill up i always swear to myself il never do it again...but it just doesnt work :(
an empty tank makes me drive more carefully which is a plus lol
