New Seat Leon Cupra Prototype Spotted Near the Nürburgring

Apologies if posted before but...

Gmotors have pictures of a 5 door Leon 'Cupra' prototype near the Nurburgring; the Leon is in FR guise but has 18/19" alloys from the current Cupra R on it... going by the Golf GTI type exhausts though I imagine this is actually more likely to be the 211-220 BHP TSI FR?

Great find. Yes interesting whether it will be an updated fr or Cupra. I had expected the Cupra would launch in three door guise first. Still good that something meatier is in testing publically already.

Judging by the size of the brake calipers that almost fill the 19" alloy I would say its a prototype cupra unless the FR will have same size brakes? Didn't think the mk2 had particularly big brakes?

Upon reflection, caliper sizes + twin exhaust I'd say its a safe bet it's Cupra under there and not likely to be a boosted FR. Also not sure where it would fit into the line up now FR is a trim. Any boosted FR (e.g. FR+) would remain run out models.

They've not even bothered with front LEDs on this mule.

Bring on the Cupra beast, likely to be in five door and 3 door by the looks of it.

Geek spot. That Leon doesn't have the new logo on either the front or back which presumably means it's been around for a while. Surprised as the Leon is the first car sporting to new logo, so this must have been made before it had been finalised or produced as seen on the first run promo cars.

I'd be interested in a Cupra/R estate/tourer - ashamed to say the new Focus ST has caught my eye in this guise...!

It also looks to have headlight washers without xenons!

I think it looks quite low too, for standard suspension system? Compared to what is on the current FR.

Each time I see it I like it more :(

It's positioned .... as....a .. family car !?

The mk3's not a bad design ...but , imo just less....exciting...
