MAF diode mod???

Whilst I was following a link about changing a temp sender when I found this …

… has anyone done this? If so with what results? The theory sounds okay, but forcing the turbo to produce more psi without modifying any other parameters in the ECU (like a remap does) sounds a little risky to me. What’s your thoughts on it?

That's the MAP sensor, not the MAF. Pressure, not Air Mass. And it effectively removes the protection given by the MAP sensor, which is a bad idea.

It doesn't force the turbo to do anything, it only stops the MAP from telling the ECU that you've gone over pressure in the manifold. You'd have to make some other modification to get the turbo to produce more boost - and once you did that you would be deliberately overboosting the engine having removed the "safety valve". Very risky. At least it's switchable :headhurt:

If you know what your doing its perfectly fine to do.

Just go on Vortex, loads of people clamp their MAP sensors, run a MBC and play with the fuelling to get it right.

Its not ideal but it works.
