i think all these low prices are due to people rushing to sell up.i know you could get them new last month for 15500 but that was without met paint or any extras.the prices will steady off again if people don't rush to sell.glasses guide still puts my car at £13000 as i checked it today

There's no rush to sell, just a normal turn over of cars from what I can see. You can still buy a new R for 15500, and you'll be able to until they've sold out. As the new price is NOW 15500 then prices will never go back up as some people seem to be hoping.

The other problem with the Re-sale of the Mk1 Leon is the Mk2 is out - But it shouldnt be affecting the LC/LCR as they arent released yet in the Mk2

But LCR's are going v.cheap at the moment - best if you can hang on to it for a while longer

see thats where I'm starting to think differently now.
I thought that until very recently.

Basically what Pete said - prices of the Cupra/R are not going to go UP again! The closer we get to the mk2 FR/Cupra, the cheaper the mk1 will get.
Don't forget, that the longer the car is held in your possesion for, the older it gets, the shorter remaining warranty gets, the more wear on the components.

I think you just have to be lucky. If you're happy for the sale price, be it dealer or whatever, take it. Just be prepared to drop to a realistic figure (which as mentioned seems to be around 10k) and don't stay stuck at your asking price as you may never sell, and it'll become harder and harder to sell as time goes on.

I think the term
a car is worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it
best applies.

As I was quite prepared to pay more than £10K for the right car, in the end, I did :)

Don't give up just yet, but £11,995 is a very high price for an 03 car, regardless of mileage......

The used prices will definately not go up in the summer, demand for all cars with sporting image may be in more demand then but there's too much competition in the Leons market.

Also highly unlikely the dealers will have any LCR mk1 left soon if their selling them at £15,500 like they are, just to get rid of them to allow a gap in sales of range topping Leon mk2.

This time is a buyers market, not a sellers.

I had to drop the price of my LCR this time last year when selling and got just under £12k, so a year on i'd think a well sorted example like mine was would fetch £10k tops now, given that there are so many more of them about to choose from now.

Cheers

not a trader guys, otherwise the logbook wouldnt be in my name!!!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that i ended up with 11500 in the end without even having to advertise it elsewhere apart from the for sale section on this site!!!!
